I just came across The Currency and wondering how long has travis been drumming with them. has he been since he left the band or just something he took up recently? I love dropkick murphys and flogging molly , but after hearing The Currency I like a little bit more because it seems more toned down and not over done like dropkick does and well flogging molly gets to much into that irish catholic thing and it turns me away at times, but The Currency pretty good. to bad i will never get to see them live living in the usa.

he's been with em for quite a while...
my GUESS is 3 years
This time two years ago, Trav was talking to me, and mentioned that he was (at that stage still) getting a group together to do some traditional/celtic/convict/dropkick inspired music.
So not quite two years methinks.
They are mighty good tho, if you're into that kinda thing. Which I am :p

Whats the beef between travis and RAE all about? I read this article and was just curious. Rae seems cool as can be and has always been nice to me.

thats the link I read travis talking about it.
That was just Trav venting after some stuff said in the Gig Hookups forum.
And after keepin quiet for 6 years, I guess it was bound to come out.
Still, the Currency seems to be goin great guns (really fun live show!), & he seems really happy with the stuff he's doin with them, and I know from talking with him in the past that he doesn't wish any ill will to Chris and Scott. Or Andy for that matter.
He just wants to get on and play his music, live his life. His way :)
More power to him...

from memory the general gist was Trav didn't like the new album, Rae said he was bitter or summin and then Trav busted out some pwnage

yeah what's wrong with him saying what he thinks, think Rae went a bit over the top cutting him down though by the look of it... i wasn't around when it all went down, that's just the idea i get when i read it

My fondest memory of Rae is her running around like a headless chook after the Festival Hall gig last year trying to round up the guy selling fake merch.
Well actually that's my only memory :p

75% of the teenaged girls screaming bloody murder when Chris asked if anyone was from Wheelers hill.... yeah, right. I'm from Ringwood north. That makes me more Wheelers Hill than anyone there that night..... except for Chris and Scott obviously ;)

Interesting fact about the Currency that some people may not know - Trav was originally the front man.
Hi Luke. I miss you. We need a chat.
