Oh boy! Super-post time! (Thanks to Shadow for rescuing this off the olde boarde before it died.)
--------------------------------
Anything different to the album is highlighted.
* Right near the beginning of the DVD, in the rehearsal rooms, you can hear a couple of songs. One sounds like 'Til The End, but the lyrics are all different (you have to listen to them in the background of Chris being interviewed). I'm guessing this became 'Til The End.
* Another one sounds like Long Live The Weekend, but includes the lyric 'stand in line, / wasting time', and then 'It's never too late / it's never too late [...to know?]' as a sort of chorus. Maybe Chris just liked the lyric, to see it in a couple of songs...
* A little bit of the instrumental from Nowhere Town. [EDIT]
* Just as they head off to the pub, there's that song with the cool drum intro. The lyrics are pretty hard to make out, because the interviews talk over the top, and then they fade out anyway.
* There's a short fat riff being played in the background after this, when the guys are talking about demo recordings, and introduce Nick Launay. You can hear it turn into a layered guitar solo, but that's about it.
* Scene changes to Chris standing around in a green jumper playing an acoustic, and Scott sitting nearby clapping his hands on his knees. 'You're making up stories / so that you can believe' Then something about suffer and victims? [EDIT: Mel says this is the pre-chorus from the old Reborn]
* Chris starts talking about playing as The Longnecks, and there's a short clip of guys standing around as with the last one, but this time Andy is hitting a lounge with his sticks. There's the line 'We'll never fall behind' repeated a few times, and '...stand in line'. Footage of The Longnecks follows, and the song just mentioned turns out to be Stand In Line, which does sound a lot like State Of Emergency in parts.
* The old Long Live The Weekend version is then played, followed by No Way Out, which appears to be unchanged.
* A rehearsal room, with Nick. Don't Turn Away, with some different bits, including the chorus as 'You cannot afford / to turn away'.
* Then, Splendour In The Grass. I Can't Give You What I Haven't Got is played. The guys are then mucking about off-stage, playing Pictures In The Mirror and All Torn Down unplugged and laid-back. Another Splendour song: 'Til The End - pretty much the same, except for a new line at the beginning 'release the hounds' and another bit sounding like it's in a slightly different key. Then, What's On Your Radio? and the finale of All Torn Down.
* As the band heads into the studio, Nothing Lasts Forever is played, with the lyrics the same but the instruments sounding quite different.
* Day 2 of recording, when Andy is moved into the living room. There's a different instrumental to 'Til The End.
* 8 Days later, the instrumentals to Order Of The Day.
* A diversion into everyone talking about Andy. Footage of Andy and Chris doing call-and-response solos at a gig somewhere.
* Back on day 2, when Scott's box is being constructed, there's another song being played. 'Your mind is breaking up / you think you've had enough / you're getting sent to [...] / Don't let yourself get [...]'. After this, everyone's talking about Scott, with the bass line to the start of Black Cat in the background.
* Day 15 dawns, and Order Of The Day is played in its final form to some artsy shots of the studio. A little after this is a brief snippet of No Way Out.
* Wake Up is then discussed and the instrumentals played in the studio. Then, swing by Melbourne with the kiddie choir.
* Back to Byron Bay, and Black Cat is played over some fast shots of the album being recorded.
* Melbourne again, with Into The Red in the background. Scott and Nick mucking around.
* Chris then shows off a notepad, with the heading 'PRIORITIES':
"A List -> Black Cat (Done), Radio (Done), Nothing Lasts Forever, No Way Out, Long Live The Weekend, We Want More"
"If Time -> Wake Up, Till The End"
Some notes about 'Acoustic' and 'Percussion'
at the bottom it says 'Long Live' and 'Stand In Line' (Still being considered this late?)
* Bits of Chris singing for the purpose of recording, and Nowhere Town.
* A discussion about One Step Behind, with the Hunters' horn section in Melbourne.
* Snippets of 'Til The End during the concluding remarks.
* Video of What's On Your Radio? during the credits.
Goddamn. That's all the music from the DVD. I so didn't miss anything. Feel free to link to this post for all your 'How To Make An Album And Influence People' needs!

Unfortunately, everyone's comments from that thread weren't saved. I don't think anyone knew much more about the pub song, though.

 You've resurrected Stand In Line... now I can't get it out of my head either. God I would love to hear it in full, surely it'd have different parts (bridge / solo etc.) to the final State Of Emergency.
