I was at the Ding Dong gig and it was pretty sweet. I know people aren't going to upload their recordings but i was wondering if anyone would be willing to share it with people who went to the gig. I mainly just want to hear rats again :P love that song already! I still have the ticket if anyone wants me to prove it.

i was up the back standing on the couches during raise the alarm and then we stood under the massive fan thingy after that song. actually i thought that guy with the massive shoulder camera was recording for the guys, i wonder if they are doing a dvd thing again. no-one would have any idea yet would they?

on a side note the runaway boys were pretty good, got their ep. sucks about the guitarist though.

do you think they would mind us sharing stuff after the album release?

A) Possibly a bloody good idea to read through the other 'Longnecks' threads before starting another

B) After the album release...not sure. Out of respect, I know I'd wait til I heard word from the guys. Chris has said in the past that he even cringes after they've recorded stuff. Hate to think how he'd feel about people posting these embryonic songs as completed works under his name...

C) Massive shoulder cam was definately being used to get footage for upcoming DVD. But again, if you'd read through the other Longnecks threads, you would've probably already known that. Hey?

What does everyone think is the most promising new song they've heard so far, and why? Either live in person or on a bootleg.
I realize, once again, that a lot of the recordings are dodgy and the songs may evolve, etc., but just for fun and games let's see what everybody thinks.

For me, i'd have to say "Moment In The Sun", it reminds me of some of the more power poppy tunes on Roll On like "Dirty Man" or maybe even something off of Modern Artillery done "right". I always thought the band under-explored their ability to write great, melodic songs that don't have to be 'IN YOUR FACE ROCK AND ROLLLLL!!!!

Why those songs? How would you define the sound? Are they all a continuation of the sort of generic (although very well done, I love the album) "hard-rock" style found on State of Emergency? Or something different? I've heard that they even return to a sort of "Runaway Boys" style rockabilly on at least one of the new songs.

Although I have listened to Kid, raise the alarm, loaded gun, hey hey disbeliever and new frontier the most, according to itunes :p

And then there's She's Calling Out, along with Faith and Suzy. I think I haven't listened to those 3 as much cos my recordings of them aren't all that listenable.

November is good too as is Rats...21st century is ok..not my fave though. The chorus is alright though.


I think that what I am trying to say is that I like most of the songs :p

As far as I know, Laurens and Shannon's turned out the best. I'm not sure how May's phone recordings turned out though? May and I both had the same phone at the time, but mine was in my pocket for most of it, so my recordings were shite.

Mhm It's well known that the guys aren't fans of bad quality bootlegs of floating around. And considering they have songs such as Faith and November which are unreleased I won't be uploading them.

Their only value is of sentimentality for me to remember the Longnecks tour for many years to come.

They really are unlistenable anyway.

If its such a big deal why didn't all of you head to these Longneck gigs yourself, there were people from all over the country at these gigs. It wasn't like it was a secret this time round, and there were even some U18 appearances too.

Seriously, how fucking lucky have we been with new songs this year and its still not enough for people. Don't any of you want to have something to look forward to? Everything in GE has been want want want for the last few days/weeks, fucking give it a rest and enjoy what you've got for once.
