I dunno if someone has said it but GD and TLE should do a joint song, like TSAC,
i mean when Chris came out at Green Day on Dec 17 2005 that was the best I Fought The Law cover and the thought of my 2 fav bands joining to make a song it sends thoughts like Urge To Mosh:Rising.

who else thinks they should do this?

No.

Nah I wouldn't want them to do it. I mean, sure it might sound good, but no.

Nah. Tenletterz!

you wouldn't have picked it was a dude by that post would you?

Actually, I'd like to see what it would sound like.

I love the name too..I was thinking about it,but I had other things in my mind. x]

Grumma

They don't mention any name of a song . . .

TSAC

Isn't that what you drop in hot water to make a warm herbal beverage?

...and the thought of my 2 fav bands joining to make a song...
Green Day isn't everyone's favourite band here.
that's why ( i suppose) there's not so much people who want them to record a song together...

Colezy
03-08-2008, 09:46 PM
It's not that their not a fave band of mine..more to do with the whole stereotype thing and what not...

Colezy
03-08-2008, 09:54 PM
Plus their styles are fairly similar, so it'd probably sound..boring?

Grumma
03-08-2008, 10:30 PM
Plus their styles are fairly similar

That's debatable

Colezy
03-08-2008, 10:37 PM
In a broad sense they are.

I myself see them as two bands who play two totally different styles, but just think of how many GD/TLE comparisons there have been since TLE first started..thats gotta count for something, yeah? I know so many people that get them confused and will hear a TLE track and think its greenday, and vise versa.

Grumma
03-08-2008, 10:44 PM
Eh, I haven't really paid attention to whether or not the bands sound similar but I've never made that mistake before

Whenever I speak to someone who doesn't know TLE that well (Which I try and avoid doing), it seems a pretty common mistake to confuse TLE and Green day or vice versa.

But for TLE to record something with Green Day, they'd be condoning green day's new political-about-everything views, and that'd be...shit?

BrittanyCHENEY™

Good point.

As for the TLE/GD mistaking between them, I had one of my best friends listen to TLE when she's supposedly a HUGE GD fan, and she thought it was GD. It was quite funny.

Edit: Nevermind.

The whole similarity between Mike Dirnt's twangy bass guitar, and Scotto's booming Upright is what really gets me mistaking the two bands for each other!

Carrie
03-09-2008, 02:18 PM
Well, I would like a GD/TLE collabo very much. I don't think they're styles are similar, but I just think both bands are cool.

Grumma

I

being the key word there

to me, i cant really see how people could confuse TLE and GD...

im a huge GD fan, and when i started listening to TLE, they were noticably different... but in an cool way that made me get into them... lol

Grumma

it'd be understandable if that person had never heard either (much like people seem to get bands like Metallica and Megadeth confused if they don't listen to metal), but otherwise you'd be a bit of a gump to get em mixed up

Grumma
03-09-2008, 04:13 PM

BrittanyCHENEY™
03-09-2008, 04:35 PM
lmao.

I've heard blink-182 and Green Day get mixed up...I don't know why.

Then I've heard Everytime I Die with As I Lay Dying.

Also As I Lay Dying with Megadeth.

I've heard alot of things.

monkeyman

hasn't this been brought up before?

Yeah it has. And I Think the general consensus was that no-one wanted to see a collaboration.

Thought if two bands had to join together to create a song or two, I'd vote for You Am I.

Now that...I would listen too!

Greenday and TLE are both great bands but they would not go together.

The U2 and Greenday thing was kinda shit to me

Do you think? I mean, Cheney did Perform I Fought the Law with them. It'd be pretty good.

Kev
03-10-2008, 11:55 PM
You Am I with Cheney was the bestest thing I had seen in the year of 2003. Apart from the boys playing on my 21st, it was still fuckin' awesome.

More of this shit needs to happen.

==EDIT==

Actually it was going to happen. You Am I did LATW, and had some friends help out (think Kev Mitchell, Nfa, Bernie Fanning, Tex Perkins). Cheney was supposed to be there to rock out with them, but unfortunately had the flu and couldn't do it.

TLE played ON my birthday.

But the invites I wrote to my mates said they were playing AT. They couldn't care if they were playing at or on my birthday, as long as they played. hahaha
