Recording Updates???

Hey I was just thinking how for MA and SOE, TLE were doing a regular blog about how the recording was going. So far nothing for this album besides a press-release, so this is more of a request for TLE to start up a new one for the album they are currently making.

I'm sure everyone else would agree.

I think it's awesome that they have the cojones to just take us right inside the studio as the songs coalesce, even before the album is finished!! That's how you know it's gonna be a rocker. I'd find it quite redunant for these to be put out on a dvd, I much prefer that they did it through youtube without a big announcement, its much more low-key and, obviously, much more immediate...it's the band using what's become a common source of instantaneous information/entertainment right as it all happens instead of making a big production after the fact...

I mean, how much cooler is watching this kind of stuff this since we DON'T really know what the songs will finally sound like, as opposed to the SOE dvd?

It could be just that it is 2008, i don't know...but it seems that Dew Process seems more happy to do or less restricting for different sort of band promoting, and not just with TLE, but with their other bands (ie. YKB, etc).

im thinking this album is sounding semi too serious but i think TLE could be being very smart and showing a selection of songs that they think arent the most awesome ones (not bad in any way what so ever) or maybe just throwing in 1 or 2, coz i thought raise the alarm was stronger the how do we know yet we've heard snippets of how do we know and never raise the alarm. coz then when the album comes out people will be like "WOW i didnt think it was gonna be this good from the youtube clips" but mm yeah just what im thinking
hopefully they come out with a couple of awesome suprises to do with songs.

Whatever they are doing sounds awesome. They said they're setting out to make a rock album with big hairy balls and that sounds to me exactly like what they are doing. I really like Jon Agnello, he seems like a good guy and my initial concerns that this would end up being over produced and shiny american style have been set back a lot by what we've been hearing.
I don't think writing songs like uncle harry or pos is their bag any more, they were young ragamuffins when they wrote those ditties and I reckon if they were writing songs like that now it'd look like they were trying to re-do the first album. They've matured, worked with their sound and they're writing intelligent, well thought out but above all excellent music. This album is going to be a corker, I know it.

i see it as almost a concept album because there is an overall theme and every track (minus MITS and WFTS which are obviously band related) all relate to the song 'White Noise', and what those words mean in this context, with the worldwide miscommunication, conflicts between religion, inequality, and etc. in every track

if it wasn't so tight and consistent, tracks like new frontier, beware the moon and rats would have been included...every track fits, musically (with the alt rock sound) as well as lyrically.

'the chaos and the calm', while sounding cooler, doesn't really summarise the album...because theres a lot more chaos than calm :p
'White Noise' does, i believe, describe the album better
