NEWS JUST IN FROM CRUCIAL MUSIC


AC/DC Lane may have suffered some serious third degree burns following a fire 24 hours prior to THE LIVING END performing live there last Saturday, but it didn't stop a harried and determined crew pulling it together in the continuation of the lane next door at Duckboard Place. Thanks to all at triple j, Nick Marson, Cherry Bar and Melbourne City Council for that one! Working on super-tight art and production deadlines for the bonus disc on the forthcoming album White Noise (July 19), it's most likely the title 'The Living End live at AC/DC Lane' will remain.

First single, also called White Noise, was #1 most added at Australian radio this week and will be in Australian stores July 5. The album was produced by John Agnello and mixed by Brendan O'Brien and is also released July 23 in Japan to coincide with the Summer Sonic Festival.

Sat Aug 02 - Splendour in the Grass Festival, Byron Bay
Sun Aug 10 - Summer Sonic, Tokyo Japan

Yep, so even though ABC/JTV will most likely cut it down to a 30 min special, we'll still get to see the whole thing! :)

And yeah...I noticed a few weeks back that I'd gone over 10,000. I had no idea I was even close to having that many posts. Never kept on eye on it :p

Yeah they did but I didn't watch it cos of the silly tv channels down here. But i think they chopped it up to bits to fit it in or something.

I hope that they include some interviews or something like that on the dvd.

Yeah I know Aaron but I just was wondering because they filmed so much of the tour so ... it'd be a waste not to use it all properly!

I think you'd be surprised what a typical filmed:released footage ratio would be. They might have filmed every night with 3 cameras, and decided to only pick the best 5-10 minutes for promo stuff. Or they might use more. But keep in mind that they cut tracks off the Festival Hall DVD, which was professionally recorded over 2 nights, because of quality concerns. The same could easily apply to all the unpolished Longnecks stuff.

Yeah that's true ... It'd be kinda cool to see all the rough stuff but I understand why they'd prefer 'polished' footage.

The Room sounded pretty darn...crappy. No, not crappy...just wrong. I don't think it worked very well in a live situation.

I'm just happy that there is a bonus DVD, no complaints from me as to what's on it. Unless there are some hideous shots of me, which i am pretty sure there will be :p
