View Full Version : Recent Purchases & future purchases
I know there is already a thread for this kinda stuff in the Off Topic area, but this is for stuff like Guitars, Amps and strings etc. All to do with Musical equipment/PA gear etc. You get the drift.
I just put in an order for this Technics mixer at work. Seeing the old Phonic DJ mixer is on the way out.

i just got 2 sm57's from singapore, i let my friend borrow one cause i have no other use for it lol, but i had to buy 2 in the deal.
i think i'll get some sort of band together (sometime in the distant future) before i start buying stage equipment
the sm57's you got. Have you used them yet? if so what did they sound like?
Because I know a few people who bought some from singapore and were really disappointed in them. Bad sound, very tinny etc. Mainly because they didnt use real Shure inserts, just cheap ones, to keep the prices down

it was a definitely big upgrade from what i was using before, i'm no audio expert, but they sound alright to me.

There have been reports of counterfeit SM-57's coming out of Asia. If you got it from a reputable dealer im sure you will be ok. If you are worried about it, I've heard Jands in Mascot can verify whether its authentic or not. I dunno though... if it sounds good I wouldn't worry. Did they come properly boxed with zipper bags and shure stamped mic clips?
As far as recent purchases... all quiet on the western front. Im still waiting for my Egnater M4 that I ordered in May. almost 5 months

I guess it's a future purchase, though probably a long way in the future as I have barely any money at the moment, I'm saving up for:

A Slap King with pickups and adjustable bridge
Plus a totally awesome case:

oh by the way, you could've gotten another guitar like that one, except in red (which i think looks better) for a few hundred dollars cheaper

nah, i didn't really like the red that much. Cheaper though? This is $750 cheaper than what i would buy in stores. Postage was $50.

lol thanks for that
hmmm...let's see...i bought a new green Pearl Forum Series drum set with Zledgian (sp?? I'm a guitarist, give me a break!) cymbals, some no name bass that sounds good so that's all that matters to the elists bastards here with a 30w Ibanez amp, an ibanez classical, a 55 Shure mic, Boss Bluesbreaker pedal, and i think that's about it...
i do alot of solo performances, so a Fender Acoustasonic SFX 80 watt is on the top of my list. I haven't had a chance to play them, but a friend owns an Ibanez acoustic amp and he highly recommends it. any feedback would be great. new is a Takamine Classic/electric, but i gotta shop around for the right one. I'm gonna be selling some old equipment and buy an original Fender Super Reverb with the money. and finally, i want to buy back my SSUGR Gretsch guitar!
