WOYR (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivVTefcFdY)

I used to have E-Boogie up here but i took it down because it was only a muck around. What i really want comments on is WOYR. I have only been playing for a year and a half so dont go to hard on me. Im getting a Gretsch Electromatic, its coming in the mail as we speak.

turn the gain down on your guitar

once you can hear the individual notes, your playing will start to get cleaner

you might find it hard to play on the higher frets on an electromatic at first, as it's alot fatter that your current guitar, but you'll get used to it

the gains on 1, when i put it any lower it starts to get muddy. Its not that distorted in person, the camera kinder distorts it a little. Cant really help that. So anything i should work on? tips, comments?

oh yeah and dont rush..play it at a comfortable speed ..not necessarily the actual speed..that might mean not playing along to the music

I shouldn't of really filmed e-boogie i admit because thats waaaaaaay out of my league, it was a request so i just gave it a try :P.
Whats on your Radio i have been working on alot though. So any tips on how i can improve? Or what parts weren't to good so i can work on them.
I practise at least 2 hours a day even more if i am lucky.

Guitar was in tune...? Just tuned it before i videod.

use your 4th finger a bit more, you get more reach out of it, especially in that 'thunderstruck' type bit.

if the camera is distorting the sound, turn the volume down, and try playing it without distortion till you get the hang of it.

i might actually do some videos of exercises and stuff so it's easier for me to explain stuff.

you can crank a song out at full speed for 2 hours and keep repeating the same sloppy style, or you can play it slow for 20 minutes and quickly improve your playing.

ahh k might have just been the notes u were playing...... ok i got some tips..

1. learn it in sections....break it down into parts u can practice over n over again till u get that part right then move on to the next part

2. do you practice standing or sitting down...its easier to play sitting down

3. learn some scales..all different sorts. they come in handy and play them with a metronome

4. never stop practicing lol

5. listen to kevin..hes smart

I took E-Boogie down because i only did that for fun, i know i cant play that well. What i really want comments/tips on is WOYR. So just forget about E-Boogie.

ok in the intro, your strums really have to be short and sharp. at the end of the chorus, you're just staying on the D. you should be going from D to C, then finish on Am. Solo needs to be worked on a bit. As for technique, what the rest of these guys said. Learn it in sections. Have you got a metronome? What you should do is play it to a slow tempo, concentrate on getting it really tight. Then increase your speed as you get better. This is especially good for solos. but yeah other than that, practice lots and keep up the good work! you'll be shreding in no time ;)

Youtube's down for new...whatchacallits? Features.

I'd like to see these, as they sound pretty good from what I've heard. Shame you took E-Boogie down. :( I need to learn how to do that 7-0-4-7-0-4 bit on the top E string properly....:( Hey, maybe that's why they called it E-Boogie? I mean, the 7-0-4 bit is all on the top E string...and I think the bottom E string's used alot. I don't know, just a thought.

Isn't it called E-Boogie because it's a boogie in the key of E?

And the video was good :) I'm not a guitarist so I don't really have any constructive feedback but what everyone else said sounds good!

Youtubes back up now. If you really want to see E-Boogie, heres a link to it:

Personally what i do is this:

e: 7p0--0--4p0--0--7p0--0--4p0--0--

It makes it sound alot faster and better in my opinion. Chris does it like this though:

e: 7--0-----0--7--0-----0
b: -------9------------9---

Do it which ever feels comfortable.

Hey, you're wearing the same T-shirt as I have! :P

But I just started guitar a term ago, and started tabs over the last couple of weeks...How do you do a pull-off and all that jazz? Sounds awesome. I just can't pluck the strings fast enough. XD

EDIT: Also, could you link me to the whole tab that you're using for WOYR? Because I'm not that good yet. What I do for the intro is something like this.

-12---12-- But I don't get how to blank out the B string, if you know what I mean. I use my first finger for the ninth fret, and my third
--x-----x-- finger for the twelfth(sp? lol) fret. So I just play them all. :D
--9-----9-- Or if you could link me to your tab, that's just fine.

use your 4th finger for the 12th fret, (thats what chris does i think) and use whichever finger you feel's comfortable to mute the middle string. To mute just lightly rest your finger ontop of the string, dont push it down.
