So I went to work today, i knew i only had one student but i tend to get more guitar practise done there. the guy didn't show up, so for 2 hours i played outside a cafe downstairs, and made a cool $2!
i used to play there years ago, the best i did was $30 in an hour, but that 2 hours of practise was great.
a friend of mine busks on the guitar with an old guy who plays the didgeridoo, they do pretty well for themselves
have you guys even thrown yourself at the publics mercy while playing music?
I made 65 cents at a train station once! We missed the train on the way to band practice so I decided to whip out my guitar and some guy walked passed and tried to chuck a handfull of change into my guitar case, but he missed and it went all over the floor haha :p

Haha, $1 an hour. Top notch.
I've never been a busker myself. It's a bit too much trouble to get a piano out in the street..

"A man parks his car in a rough part of town with two accordions on the back seat, forgetting to lock the back door.
When he returns, there are three accordions. " hehehe

One of my mates younger brothers is a crazy jazz trumpet player. At the age of 16. He has funded a trip to Cuba for 3months purely off busking. A day at darling harbour could make him $300, thats how good he is.
I am immensely jealous of his talents.

Either way, I hate keyboards. I'm a pianist. Not a keyboardist.

I think (but i'm not sure) that in the city in Melbourne, all you have to do is get like a one day liscence and its for free.

well apparantly you have to go an audition to the council people (brisbane)
and its fairly hard to get one unless your like an aboriginal guy playing didgerydoo, a blind guy with a dog playing saxphone or that awesome guy who does the crazy paintings with spray cans!
thats a few i can think of and they are mostly pretty awesome

Do you need a permit for every person if you were in a band or dance troupe?
Kevin

i would think that when you go to get the permit you would have to say what you do, so they would issue one permit for your whole dance troupe
