Love the horns! Love Andy getting into it and all the Andy shots! Love the crowd getting into it! Love all the guitar shots - maybe i can finally learn how to play the thing! Love the Medley! Love Uncle Harry! Love trying to spot people in the crowd i can recognise! Love Chris' Chris-isms - what was is? "Live for todorrow" or something??? Love that I couldn't keep the grin off my face through the last 20 mins of the dvd. Love that we finally have a dvd quality (almost) full lenght concert :)

Besides if people see a dvd playing with no sound, if they can recognise the band it's likely they already know about the dvd (from all our wonderful flyers ofcourse), and if they don't, then seeing a dvd of a band playing with no sound probably wouldn't attract them to buy it much.
I feel a bit bad but I'm glad I have the dvd, I watched a bit last night and am watching more now. I see what Rae meant when she said that they're playing so much better than they were then but they're still really amazing and I'm glad they released it! Just a shame they cut out the room.

Sadly, the only good things I can say about the dvd are negative things about the band. So I might keep my mouth shut rather than upset everone. I was really hoping it'd blow me away, but alas. Maybe next time.

My good points on the dvd are, for a start. I'm glad I got to borrow it from work and it didn't cost me anything. If I paid to watch it, I would have been really annoyed. I felt that the dvd would have been better as a free throwaway dvd with an album. I don't think it's worth the money that is being asked for it. Why? Well:

It wasn't the whole gig. It's so frustrating when a gig gets chopped up and songs and witty banter are missing. Also, live dvds are better when they showcase a bands whole existence. I was stunned at the lack of variety on the dvd. Plenty from albums 1 and 4, but hardly anything from the rest. And that medley bugs me. Instead of playing 5 or 6 really great songs, they destroyed 5 or 6 really great songs by not doing them any justice by packing them into a medley. I also hated the bit at the end with people talking about the gig. There has to be more words in the english language than "fucking awesome". That's not just against this dvd though, I can't stand those things on any filmed concert.

Second "good" point. It really made me glad that I didn't go to that tour, because it just looked far too big for a Living End gig, and as good a show as the guys put on, the crowd would have soured me on it big time. Too many sing-a-longers and gotta-get-my-face-in-the-camera types, all cheering at the big singles and standing there looking stupid at an album track.

So, as I say, they're not really good points at all because they're very negative things about the band. Well, I guess it's just one negative thing about the band really "not worth the money". I'm actually worried about the show on Saturday night now, I don't know if I want to go, or if I want to sell my ticket off to someone else. But either way, it's certainly not a dvd that I'll be buying, nor recommending to any customers at work (oh, forgot to mention. I work in a record store).

No way, no barrier for me. I got to a gig to watch and enjoy. Not to get knocked around by a bunch of tools who can't stand still. I'm a back row kid. I'm probably 60% want to go and 40% not at the moment. At least our Brisbane venue has a top level so you can get away from the thrash pack and enjoy from a distance. I just hate sing-alongers so much. It's not just the crowd though. It's also how much it costs for what you really get out of it. And at the moment I really just can't see value for money in the band these days.

When you're on the barrier you don't get knocked around. That's the beauty of it...you get the view and you don't get moshed to within an inch of your life. It's either right at the front or way towards the back.

Got the DVD today and just watched it. Counted myself on there at least 20 times (and wrote down the times because I'm a geek). I can't believe people recognised me at the start, as it was just short glimpses of me. I'll have to watch again later without focussing on my ugly head appearances.

There was another group on the barrier (near the guy with the mohawk) that got a lot of air time too. How funny was that guy that go on during the lryics "Anything thing you say!" and then smiled with the huge braces! :)

I haven't heard a band yet that says they don't get the biggest kick out of seeing everyone in the crowd singing along to their songs, and the music is so loud that you really don't hear anyone singing unless whoever's singing stops to get the crowd involved (or perhaps that's just because I'm always right near the speakers?)

I used to think she was really annoying, and then even more so after meeting her backstage on May 19th but then we spent an entire day in line with her and my opinion has completely changed. I got home really late last night after the P!ATD concert and I kinda slept in and missed it. *gutted* But I caught the end of it; not only did it finish early, but they didn't even show the encore. The Green Day one is on now and it's being cut to shit. Ads everywhere, the didn't even play King For A Day. D: It's repeated on Monday and Tuesday so I'm gonna check then just to be sure, but my guess is that they're not playing the songs that were cut from the DVD. I don't think they're even playing everything that made the DVD.

I watched the Channel V thingy, thought it was fantastic. The DVD I mean. I didn't think that Channel V did it TOO bad, I thought it was just great that they showed it at all! I've recorded it :) They did show everything that's on the DVD, though there were some ads every half hour or so which was a little annoying. But comparing it to how they've ruined the Green Day one, Channel V did pretty well with it.

Hehe I saw Mel and Cam and others. 'Twas pretty cool. And my little sister was watching with me and she was like "That's Mel!" whenever she saw her.

Man now I wanna get the DVD even more! Argh I need money really bad.

They were incredible! Exceeded all my expectations. Brendon was really shocked by how into it we all were. I had an absolute blast. Something With Numbers were really great, as were Kisschasy. Both support bands were awesome, which isn't something you see a lot of, normally there's at least one shit to not-so-good support act.

Back on topic: glad to hear the TLE concert wasn't butchered.

I got the DVD today. It's pretty good but I was expecting a little more. Maybe it's just me. I've actually never got into music DVD's that much so it's probably nothing to do with DVD I just don't enjoy watching it on TV. But I also sort of ruined it for myself by downloading the live sets off 23rd Precinct so I knew how they played the songs live.

When i watched it on my computer i was very picky about some of the camera's being rediculously poorer quality...like Scotty's upskirt cam and a couple of others...they were really grainy, but i watched it on the big TV and you don't notice the difference...

YAY!!! I got it this morning as i was leaving for the bus so i couldnt watch it. But when i finally got home i chucked it in the old laptop and watched it from start ti finish. I really liked it and i wish that i was there on the 19th rather than the 20th. The only criticism i have about it is that i would have liked it if the room was on the DVD. Dissapointing that it wasn't but i guess it wouldn't appeal to a general audience so they had no need to put it in the DVD.

Actually it was cos they weren't happy with the quality of their performance of it. They know that they're playing a hell of a lot better now and they just didn't want it on there.

Well, if you judged the missing footage to be consistent to that which is on the DVD, there'd be no problem with it at all, right? The logic is flawed - it's impossible to judge why it was cut, aside from comments such as Rae's, or those from the night that might have said 'the sound was bad' or that there were problems, etc.

Which makes sense, because both Tabloid Magazine and The Room have alot of extras that build the song that doesn't happen live. And i can speak for previous recorded live versions when i say that Tabloid Magazine sounds pretty RS recorded live, because it needs two guitars etc. So that's why i suspect those three songs were cut.

It's all good while you're there, i agree...but when they're recorded...so the crowd noise is taken out of it, and the sound is normalized and at a nice friendly volume, you hear how full of holes songs like Tabloid Magazine are. (And The Room would be the same)
