Oh they played the medley alright, it was frickin' awesome! And as for the string breakage, i dunno what happened there, but Chris wanted to play his Falcon and then said something about it "Not Working" and went back to the Chet Atkins. *shrug*
I remember that because i thought it was a tad odd that he only had two guitars with him...

And he has more than two guitars...but it depends on which ones are ready and which ones go with the song. Obviously the song he was about to play called for a hollow body. If it was a meaty song like POS or Carry Me Home, he woulda picked up a solid body.

And of course if strings are broken, Matty has to fix them...and he can only do one at a time!

Hooray.....latest Myspace Bulletin Says That The Dvd Is Coming Out....and With The Soe Video Clips Too!

The Live at Festival Hall, Melbourne DVD has been creating a lot of mystery. Is it or isnt it coming out??? Sorry about that, we just were not sure for a while had to make sure we were happy with the footage. All fixed now and rescheduled for a Sept 30 release and will include all four videos from State of Emergency. The DVD will also be produced in NTSC (USA) format for those wishing to import it from Australia.

They're showing it on Channel V at 8:00 tonight according to my TV guide thingy. But in one part of the guide it says it only goes for an hour, while if you look for more information, or on the website, it says it goes for two hours. Confusing.

I'm going to my uncle's party tonight but I'll be recording it. However I guess I won't upload it, not until I get the DVD anyway. If they show something different to what's on the DVD I'll see if I can upload it then.

I hope they show good stuff on it! And there'd better not be lots of ads and stupid stuff, though knowing Channel V there will be.

It's a really cool thing that they've finally got a live DVD coming out, ey? Because they're ripper live... I thought there was one planned during the Roll On era... but was cancelled due to some reason unknown to myself and others (well, some anyway)... anyone know about this?

The DVD will feature all 4 SOE Single video clips - my lord, that's a tasty bonus, I'd almost gone out a' hunting for the video clips, or thought that a revised version of From Here On In would tackle the video issue... but it seemed a bit messy in my mind... some bands do revise the greatest hits discs, though.

Is the DVD going to be available at any shows (obviously, shows closer to the release date), but before the 30th? (E.G: At the Palace on the 21st? Cause' that'd be sweet.)

Also, do we have an update on the ever elusive EP Medley? Is it on the DVD... hidden (like Dirty Man on FHOI)? Or is it perfectly visible and the folks at HMV and other stores have just reported wrongly?

The Medley IS going onto the DVD - someone from the label missed it in the track listing. 5 songs were removed as they were deemed not good enough. They are (from memory) The Room, No Way Out, We Want More, Tabloid Magazine and maybe another. It's been rescheduled for a Sept 30 release

Bit bummed that the Room and Tabloid Magazine are cut, they being two of my favourite songs, but if that's the way it is then so be it. I'm thankful for all of the other songs anyway.

I'm really glad that the medley will be on but like pretty much everyone else has said it's a shame about The Room. Is the quality of it really that bad? It sounded great to me when I was there, and I'd really like to see it again. But anyway I'm happy that the DVD is going ahead at all. So thankyou =D

I'm happy with what we're getting...for sure. No Way Out is no loss at all for me...and The Room is never gonna sound much good live....i mean it's fine when you're there on the night, but on a dvd...the quality just is never gonna do that song justice.

We Want More? That'd be a bummer to lose...but these things happen.

And I've never thought Tabloid Mag stands up very well when it's recorded live...it needs a second guitar...so no loss although i love the song.

All in all...can't bloody wait!

I'm pretty sure this one will be continuous...there has been no word of interview footage or whatever going between tracks.

And i've found that most music dvd's that have that "movie" theme to them with stuff between songs usually has a selection for concert only in the special features.

It's pretty simple...there is bound to be at least 1 second of silence from the boys between songs...so they cut the track out at those point. The crowd noise can be mixed back together so you can't hear a noticable break. As with the footage, you just use a simple cut from one camera to another, and you'd never know there was a break...unless of course you cut from a picture of chris walking off one side of stage and then cut back in on Chris on the opposite side of the stage.

But it's a pretty simple process really.

In regards to the CD that I keep talking about, all the websites (HMV, etc...) have a DVD and a CD seperately listed, with the same tracklisting on both, but now that will have changed... but I was never sure on the CD's authenticity because Rae's told us about the DVD and not about this "non-existent" CD.

I'm assuming that HMV have had a cock-up in Head Office and there is no CD.
