Saw that the boys are comin back to Toronto. AND back to The Mod Club. So fucking excited. Is this going to be all ages again? I'm like 6 months from turning 19, please Rae, work your magic like you did in the summer and make this all ages!

Ok, freaking out a little bit, saw that the Vancouver show is 19+ Can someone please let me know if the Toronto gig is 19+ or not. If it is I might have to kill someone. Lets do the all ages thing again shall we?

The only show on the North American tour that's 19+ is Vancouver. Couldn't do much about that. Everything else as I understand it, is all ages (as it should be)

Rae, so is the Providence show just an opening slot though? like, 45 minutes? or are TLE and Zox doing headlining sets?

Yeah that makes sense. I don't think I've ever heard of a gig at Richards On Richards that wasn't 19+. And Vancouver's our most liberal city...go figure.

can someone tell me why the living end, jet and ozomatli have all decided to have a gig on the same day, after not getting a decent gig in santa barbara for months? especially when all the UCSB students have final exams the following week... what fuckwit promoters are these? i could do a better job ! ! ! !

federico says fuck off... after looking at all the bands, i will probably see the living end... yeah, good night...

Hey guys,

Here is the setlist of the Levittown, NY show. This setlist was exactly the same at the Knitting Factory, NYC. But they changed it a bit at the Levittown gig, they didn't play Carry Me Home and played Monday.

By the way, is anybody from NYC going to the Asbury Park show in NJ by car next Wednesday?

Thanks,

2 NY shows:

The Levittown show was essentially a dress rehearsal for the Knitting Factory, due in part to the lackluster, boring, and incompetent crowd at Ritual in Levittown. The place is normally for 14 year olds to get drunk on their parent's dime, so for them to see live music was too overwhelming for the few who were there. The "devoted few" we were, indeed.

As for Knitting Factory, I was a member of the press for the show (I am a rock critic for my campus newspaper, the Hofstra Chronicle) and I got an interview with Andy, then I was denied access to the show. I was supposed to be on the guest list via a Marisa from East/West Records, because I am reviewing the show, as well as printing excerpts from the interview in the Entertainment section of the paper, thereby giving the band more exposure. However, I was not on the list, and had to buy a ticket, just to review the performance. The forthcoming review will be linked to this post via edit as soon as I am done writing it.

Sam

EDIT: I MUST WAIT TO LINK UNTIL IT IS PUBLISHED, WHICH WILL BE ON NOV. 30, SO THERE WILL BE ANOTHER EDIT THEN.

You have to buy them advance through Ticketmaster, they can't be picked up at the venue.

ok, this is weird.. i just went to richards on richards website and it says they are playing on the 17th and the 23rd... but the 23rd isn't listed anywhere else, i would think they would want to go home as soon as possible and take a mini break before those other shows. i'm assuming it's just a mistake.. anybody know?

I went to the Providence, RI show last night. They didn't headline and only played a 45 min. set. They still rocked :) Zox was the headliner (who I'd never heard of before buying tickets for this show) Half the crowd was waiting for them. I even heard people say, during TLE's set, "I want my Zox!" The other half seemed to be diehard TLE fans :)

Anyway, I had a great time. Here's a pic I took:

i went to the buffalo show on friday night, and i think pretty much everyone was there for tle. every other band got a respectful clap after each song, but the people were going crazy once tle took the stage! i was right against the stage and i have two huge bruises on both my hip bones from being squished into stage by the people behind me! they played for about an hour and 20 minutes, but it seemed so much shorter. they didn't even say anything between songs, it was just one after the other so they could fit in as many as possible. it was great!

i'm thinking of going to the toronto show cos i'm on the guestlist, so, why not...but it's a really far drive. anyone else going?

I think Chris ment that they were coming back to to go to New York, and then Jersey. They went from Philly to DC, and then back up, so I think that's what he ment. It be cool if they just toured up and down the east coast...FOREVER! haha.

so, a friend of mine's band is playing the pre-show party which means we'll be around the other bands as they arrive, so what kind of guys are TLE? cuz i really wanna meet these guys and will truly do anything to shake their hands :)

Zox was OK. It was nice to see a bad ass fiddle solo in rock and roll but their fiddler reminded me of Fred Durst kind of and he really annoyed me for some reason. They also butchered the living hell out of Where Is My Mind by the Pixies which really pissed me off. They had some OK songs but I wouldn't buy their album. I didn't see the first band.

idk...compared to the first two, they were softies lol

Went to the show at Slim's last night, the same place they played last summer at the end of their US tour. It goes without saying that it was a hard-ass rocking show that I had an awesome time at. The set list was the same as the one posted earlier for this tour. The band seemed really relaxed last night, and sounded great. Chris is not much of a stage talker, but he was a little bit more chatty yesterday than the last time around.

We were in the front row, right up against the barricade, just below Scott. I brought my camera, but after the first song the security guy told me that flash was not allowed. WTF? It wasn't a problem the last show. So unfortunately, the quality of most of my shots is pretty poor, despite my proximity to the stage. However, I'm hoping to get some better pics soon, as I am having a small TLE extravaganza this week: Slim's last night, Ventura on the 11th, Anaheim House of Blues on the 12th, and Sunset HOB on the 13th. We also have tickets to the five song mini-concert for the Jimmy Kimmel show taping right before the Sunset HOB show.

After the show, we hung out in front, by the bus and waited for the guys. When they showed up, maybe an hour after the show, they did an impromptu meet and greet for the 20 or so of us waiting in the cool night air. As everyone who has ever met them has said, they were incredibly kind and gracious. (And, for the record, Australian accents rule! :-) ) When we were talking to Andy, he mentioned that they were heading over to The Beauty Bar (one of those I'm-too-hip-for-you kinda San Francisco bars.) So we headed over there too, and spent the next couple of hours hanging out and chatting with them and the guys from I Hate Kate, the excellent opening band. We even got Andy to put down his Guiness and do a tequila shot with us. They seemed pretty impressed to hear we were going to be stalking them down the California coast. We told them to look for us in the front row at every show. :-)

So when I get those better pics, I'll post a couple. It's going to be a fun week!

No, I didn't get another email, just 5:30. That's good though, I was worried I was going to miss part of the show at the HOB because we'd still be stuck at the taping.

Just hit my email, thanks for letting me know.

I was there by myself. It kicked ass, but I don't think the crowd response was as good as last time. I just jumped around and sang along near the front by myself. I probably made an ass out of myself, but I don't care. Anybody see a blond haired 17 y/o that wouldn't shut up. Yep that was me. Gosh I love TLE.

I'm going. I saw them last night and I talked to them afterwards, they were very nice and they signed my setlist and my vinyls. The show was great but you can tell they are more than ready to go home. I asked Andy about his dog and he was talking about how much he misses her so he calls home and talks to her over the phone and she supposedly starts barking and then licking the phone.

i was at the ventura show last night too... wasn't bad to see the boys again, hadn't seen them since the Long Necks show at the Corner in melbourne before SoE was released...

i quite enjoyed the show, although there were about 10 dickheads there that all weighed about 140kg just pushing people around which really annoyed me... there would've only been about 200-250 people there but the boys still played well... and for a small crowd it was a pretty vocal one...

and it was especially cool as an australian to see an aussie band in the US... although americans yelling "aussie aussie aussie" doesn't work to well...

oh, and also worth noting... chris played the intro to blood on your hands before stopping and saying he couldn't remember the words...

When Chris was playing Peter Gunn during Andy's drum malfunction, did he slip in some Secret Agent Man too? I forgot to ask him when I was talking to him afterwards, it sure sounded like it.

I'm going. I saw them last night and I talked to them afterwards, they were very nice and they signed my setlist and my vinyls.

Boo, I saw them 2ce ant HoB in Anaheim and W. Hollywood in Aug, and then saw them last night in Anaheim again on the 12th and it sucks coz they're venuses where they don't go out and talk. Have seen them 3 times and yet to talk to them :(

You should have gone to Ventura! There were only like 10 people waiting outside for them after..

I wonder if the guys' show is still on tonight. It's supposed to be in Portland and there are huge storms all over that area that has knocked out power to millions and has caused damage to tons of buildings. If not, I hope they knew ahead of time because the Brian Setzer Orchestra is playing tonight in LA and it would be great if they could go.

GAH!!! I didn't know about that show though. I was just planning on the Anaheim one. I didn't know that they couldn't come out coz of the setup of the venue! Rrrrr >_<

That and I think Venture is too far away from me. Let me check Google Earth, lol

...

Yah, that's 110mis "as the crow flies" W. Hollywood was far enough at 50mis. I'm in Corona so I'm stuck with LA area... wonder if I could get them to do Riverside area, haha

Yeah it's about 2- 2 1/2 hours away from me. But I'm used to driving that far, usually farther, for a good show. I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
