i'm really excited about seeing forumers too - wonder if we could/should all get a group photo with the guys after the show just for posterity (and hey some Melbourne people did it - so it's almost like "the thing to do" now :p)

Good idea, might be a bit hard to catch them at Luna Park though.. many possible escape routes. Should get a forumers group photo before the show either way...

haha - we should have had a gimmic (like the tent at Melbourne :p) so they had to come and see us!

Food at Luna Park is astronomically priced. Haha, pun. But if you walk outside the Park, under the arch to Milson's Point or whatever those shops are, there's a place that sells awesome burgers and stuff. 20c spent on the chilli sauce on one of them is the best 20c you'll ever spend.

WOOO HOO!!! the day has come. im getting there early (3pm) coz my family is going to hang around for a while. does anybody have any idea what time chris scott & andy will get there & what entrance they'll be going through? i want to meet them!!!

Oh that was a pretty great show.. was cool to meet a bunch of people!
I must say I enjoyed Newy more in a way... probably because the early tunes were played and the crowd was generally more into it. Performance wise they were a lot more exuberant though tonight with the jumping and such...
You can really tell they have just done the warped tour, so much energy.. best shows I've seen from them.

Haha, going on about how awesome that show was to people on this board is like preaching to the converted :p. But it was brilliant. All the little breakdowns and shredding that Chris puts in, *that* version of All Torn Down... oh my, Into The Red live!, Waltzing Matilda singalong, Scotty conducting the crowd, E-Boogie - now with more of everything!, Tainted Love/Smoke On The Water/several other songs in one, Chris' call for anarchy during Second Solution, ...the whole things was brilliant!
And now, I get to do it twice more before the weekend is out :D
Also, it was good to briefly meet a couple of 'boarders - Adele, *M!, jono, DP again. I also saw another mate of mine who keeps turning up in photos taken at the barrier, and found out that he hasn't missed a Sydney gig since '97! Whoa!

HOW GOOD WAS THAT??!! & to make it even better i met the boys before the show!!! i got there roun 3.30 & i saw them on the outside of the fence. everybody tried to go through the entry to see them but i knew it would be too crowded so i ran around the long way & got there 1st before anybody else!!! i got andys autograph but then some dude pushed me away & told me to bugger off! but they were just doin an interview for mtv or somethin...so i had to wait with everybody else until the interview was finished. then i got chris's & scotts autographs! they're all legends!!!!
then i had to line up to get my tickets & the people at the box office had no idea of what was going on! i met *M! there & we both nearly had heart attacks coz we thought we mite not be able to get in! but it was all ok & we got the tix!!
red riders were crap & end of fashion were pretty good but TLE were amazing!!! into the red was great & so was tainted love with smoke on the water & west end riot with whole lotta love!!! it was the longest eboogie ever!!!
the crowd were pretty well behaved and got into it more as the night went on. overall it was just fantastic!!!
oh...and does anybody have the setlist? i think it was pretty close to the newy & gosford gigs but id like to see it.

Awesome show last night. It was great to see Into the Redand NLF CAME off better than expected. The only problem is that TLE have too many hits that "have" to be played like POS/SS etc so its getting less likely to see songs like hold up or carry me home which would have been awesome.
What I reckon would be really awesome is a concert just for diehard fans with all the CD's where they don't feel like they have too play all the hits and could play some more obscure songs.
Because I was too young in 98 it feels like I'm gonna miss out on seeing them play album tracks from TLE and Roll On.
Anyway what I was trying to say was AWESOME.
P.S I'm definitely changing my signature to "this one's called reality TV shows can go fuck themselves."

well i was never intending on going to the show... i didnt buy i ticket cause i spend to much on dvds and wat not....then it was sold out and i really wanted a ticket....bummer.... neway i rode 100km on my bike to the airport for no reason then back up to luna park where i hung out with mates who had tickets!.. so they asked some people if they had a spare ticket..and funny enough they did.. ended up in the front of the queue.... the living end is too awesome for words....sooooooooooooooo good. oh yeah and the girl with the flag is the coolest. tle jjust keep getting better and better

yay I am alive! Man that was a good show on thursday! apart from being stuck behind a really tall and wide man most of the gig haha. oh well. I wish I read this thread before I left. I would have been at the meeting point to meet y'all rather than whoring it up on the rides :p I only got about 3 decent photos and a few shonky vids. I'll try and upload when I get home tomorrow night. If I remember.
well - since other people that i saw at the show have posted here about it - i shall too post my show events...
it would seem that eveyone else that went to this show seemed to have a LOT more fun at the show that me. (just from reading the last couple of pages)
i saw Luke_The Edge_Dragons when i was waiting in line to grab my E-tix (e-tix=biggest waste of time and space ever! we freaked out whilst waiting for the tickets and then we had to joint the regular line after i got my physical tickets and so it was more of a pain than anything else and i didn't actually get in the doors in time to get a spot where i could see the show! :()
other than that, it was nice to meet Luke!
anyway, my clan and i did finally get in - mum instantly wanted somewhere to sit down and Joey was instantly worried about getting stabbed or something 'cause here in the country we're not used to big crowds - my friend went to the over 18s section and i tried the mosh thing - i lasted the whole Red Riders set and then decided that being able to breathe was more important than being able to see and i was the first person to exit the mosh (after a brief yelled conversation with Adele :))
i caught up with Kevin and Aaron and their friend Chris during the End of Fashion set (i was dissapointed with EOF - they were average at best) and that was weird - i didn't get to see Aaron's socks (awww... unfair) but i did get a pink musk stick (thanks) but other than that i think the 3 of us felt akward around eachother or something 'cause i spent more time talking to Chris than i did to either of them! :(
during the break between the EOF set and the TLE set i caught up with the Red Riders... (two of which i went to uni with and didn't realise that they were in the band until i was actually looking at them from the mosh) it was so much fun being there and talking to the band and getting hugs and stuff, generally being treated like family, when there were all these people coming up to them getting various body parts and attire signed (i now consider getting asked to sign someone's socks THE most rock thing ever... creepy!)
TLE came on and i was prepared to enjoy myself... and they sounded pretty good but it would seem that they didn't connect with the audience or something (and i wasn't especially fond of their setlist either) 'cause the show just didn't do it for me...
i'm broken hearted to say that here 'cause i love them with all my heart but yeah - i can't say that if i'd realised what i was getting myself and my 'crew' in for i would have been better off staying at home and going to my Friend's funeral...
Joey and i did do some quality running around right up near the merch stand when TLE was on - i think the Merch people appreciated the entertainment but yeah... the boys kept trying to rev the audience up by swearing and that would get a couple of yells from the kiddies but other than that... nothing much seemed to be going on from where i was standing
i did get to talk to Rae for about 20 minutes after the show - she seems like a really great person and other than meeting up with my friends from uni that was the highlight of my night. i gave her the books that i'd made with my photoshop challenges in them, she seemed to get a bit of a giggle out of them so that was encouraging :)
i was hoping to get one signed so that i could take it home with me and the other 3 copies were for the boys themselves but Rae said (to paraphrase her words): that after a not-so-crash-hot gig like they played that night she wouldn't go back and talk to them that night (fair enough!)
she said she'd take them back to them another day/night and i'm getting one signed and posted back to me... so hopefully it'll make it's way back to me soonish but even if it doesn't - i don't really mind (i can print off another one for my records)
we didn't even stay back to talk to any more forumers (sorry people - you can't believe how strange the rest of "my crew" were after the show) and yeah - i made my way back to the place we were staying, went and had a shower and then slept...
maybe my gig was tainted 'cause i wanted everyone i went there with to love them as much as i do usually, maybe it was just travelling 5 hours to get there - i couldn't tell you but i don't know if it'll be happening again in the near future...
one day i shall see them and fall in love all over again but last thursday wasn't that night...

and as far as "got to see them" it depends what you mean by it :p
i'm about 155cm tall and there were about 1500 people standing between me and the stage... i saw a lot of the back of people's heads and hands too...
don't know when i'll see them again... it's been a decent 2/3 years since my last gig... i think i might have to take extra time and travel somewhere that's really far away... remote and intimate so that i actually get to see!
either that or i need to go with pushy/tall friends so that we all get to see and stuff...

Haha, I know how you feel about being shorter than everyone else!! I'm about 160 or 161 cm, while most of my friends are closer to 170cm!!
Tassie is far away and remote...intimate too, cause its so small! So come and visit me when they play here next (hopefully on their next Aus tour!!) and you will be able to see! I will push our way to the front, don't you worry! :p

oooh - i forgot to mention in my mamoth post that i went up to the barrier after the show with my brother Joey looking for picks or setlist or something (as if - it took as about 10 minutes to get to the front after the show and everything was well gone)
anyway the bouncer wasn't interested in looking for anything for me so i pulled out the big guns (ie we just drove 5 hours to see the bloody show) and he was like: ooh, you want something for your son?
bwahahaha - it's been ages since people thought my brother was my kid :D

And yeah, the couch is available! We even have a good nice fold out bed thingo that is great to sleep on, so you could have that! :p

there are 11.5 years between my brother and i - so everyone has always thought he's my kid not my bro!
(i remember one Christmas when i was 12 or 13 'Santa' asked my brother if his mum wanted a bag of lollies or something too and i was like - we could go ask her and 'santa' said: "no i was talking about you..." i freaked out!)
we didn't get anything from the gig other than blisters on our feet basically - but that may have also been caused by the half hour walk back to our accommodation and the 3 flights of stairs up to our room! :O
we were staying just up the road from Johnny Howard's Sydney house!
i wanted to throw things at it but the security guards wouldn't let me! :( :p ;)
