Looking forward to these, although I don't have a PS2. Xbox wins. I refuse to give in to Sony. Those dirty con-men. Bastards. BASTARDS I SAY!
EDIT: No, it's for Guitar Hero 2, the sequel to the game Guitar Hero on PS2, in which you use a little plastic guitar thing, and press five different frets in rhythm. Think DDR guitar style.

I've been keeping my eye on the released songs, kinda hoping I'd find some TLE on it, but being an Aemrican company I didn't really expect it. Was great when I went to the GH forums today and saw carry me home on it. Makes me look forward to it 5 times as much!

I really should get this game. Every time i got into JB there is always someone playing it and it looks pretty cool. This gives me even more reason to get it....or i could get my brother to pay or it! *talks to himself* (nice thinking andre)

hows this game work, your not actually playing guitar are you, do you just have to press like the red button on the fret when it comes up on the screen, and like the buttons on the fret in sync with the tv.

the guitar has 5 frets to press, and a switch or something where the pickups would be, so unlike ddr where you just have to hit one button, you've gotta hit the fret and flick the switch to play the note.
then there's some other thing where there's a sensor in the guitar and it tells you to "rock out" and you have to swing the guitar up and down to score points
i've never played it though, but there's a pc clone here http://louhi.kempele.fi/~skyostil/uv/fretsonfire/
it's pretty fun
Yay awesome. I am the hugest fan of the first one, now I am just over the moon wheeeeee :D Man that's scary though... I had this weird "vision" of myself palying carry me home on that game :O

Yes and No. I think if you already play guitar I think it will be easier on the harder songs once you get the hang of using the controller, but because you are used to playing a normal guitar, it might take some time getting used to playing. It weird to explain, but this game is so much like playing a guitar, yet it's so different at the same time. I think the game has helped my with my sight reading haha :).
So in my opinion, if you can already play guitar, then it will help you but to an extent.

Carry Me Home Is More Well Known Then You Think...Its On Guitar Hero :p
Wooohooo. I wouldnt have expected a Living End Song On Their. And if they picked one I wouldnt have expected Carry Me Home. Well I suppose. That might be one of the few songs that's suitable for the game.

fuck yeah this is going to be fucking awesome!
my mate has the first one and im telling him to buy the second one!
all good fucking bands!
Ok… so has anyone else bought it yet? It came out on Wednesday, but I got mine last night, but only unlocked Carry Me Home this morning and… the vocals sound shithouse!! Totally nothing even near a tiny resemblance of Chris’. The rest of the song was done good though and the guitar work is pretty much spot on so I guess that makes up for it :p I love this game. It’s so much more interactive than the previous GH and the two-player mode is awesome, especially since I have 2 guitar controllers now so I don’t have to play with the normal playstation controller ;) hehe. It even has a practice mode now where you can play either bass, or guitar at whatever tempo you want, its so cool! :D I have been playing the bass part of the Stray Cats’ “Rock This Town” over and over for the last hour. its awesome. Oh and after your set you get an encore its so awesome. The encore of the last set is really cool. I wont give it away though, but you cant get encores in easy mode only medium, hard and expert.
Oh, are the songs covered? I didn't know that.
I'm not really into video games, but is it on Xbox as well as PS2?
We only have an Xbox 360.

Yep, they're covered. Killing In The Name was covered, and it's SHIT.
Instead of "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me", they have "(And now you're under control), I won't do what you tell me". Not to mention shit voices...

I was expecting them to do what they do in other games with "soundtracks" and just dump the album versions on there.
Here's a video on youtube if your interested. the guy playing it isn't really good though :p

Same. What's the point of covering them?

By the looks of that video Jamie posted, it's so that the game can have a generic animated band playing in the background of each song.

Not only that, but the tracks need to be seperate so that when you miss a note on the guitar, or you decide to stop playing mid-song the band will keep going but the guitar will stop, other wise if they just threw on a song straight of an album and you'll still hear the guitar being played even though you are not playing it. same for the bass mode too.

me and a friend of mine were walkin threw the game store last week only to find 2 player Guitar Hero 2 set up, so of course, we played it. We played the rev, tle, stray cats, the amazing crowns (which isn't a cover, at least as far as i could tell seeing as the shitty demo tvs arent the greatest) and black sabbath. fun stuff, sadly the generic 'carry me home' sounds like poo, fun to play however :)

Just out of curiosity, to anyone who has played the game: do you have to do anything special to hit the fake harmonics on Carry Me Home? Or is it all just pushing the right buttons at the right time?

End of the World was on Tony Hawks Underground 2 (or it was 1, I forget)
and Roll On was on World Series Sprintcars (That was the opening song)
