NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I loved Justin Hawkins' high-pitched voice! :( He was awesome...Ah well, if he needs to sober up, he needs to sober up.

They'll never be the same, that's for sure. I saw them once, and that was at the BDO.

They were quite good when I saw them.

I knew nothing about them, and walked past the stage and thought these guys were pretty cool.

I've seen them twice. Once at BDO and once at their own gig at Perth Metro. And they're easily one of the best bands I've ever seen. I will never forget the Perth Metro gig. I think Richie has done well to take over from Frankie on Bass, but I doubt the band will continue without Justin. Don't be surprised if Justin rejoins the band- they've pretty much followed in the footsteps of Spinal Tap so I'm pretty sure in the near future he'll be back again lol

Apparently my previous post didn't show...

Very sad - how can you replace something like that?

Even though i think these guys are a bunch of doochebags, i still firmly believe Justin Hawkins = The Darkness. He basically was the darkness, they only got recognised because of his highballsed voiced, so without him, they should end now while they still got time, and end now while their reputation is still nice and high.

Yep, I agree 100% with Marv.

I have 'Permission to Land'. I like it a fair bit but i was never enough of a fan to see them live. I doo agree that without those high pitched vocals, the darkness is not the darkness. That is what i think made the band. It will now be interesting to see what happens to the band after this happening.

I saw them at Luna Park earlier this year and they were awesome. Justin just had that presence on stage that not many artists have these days. Sad to see him go

he says he wants to pursue a solo career too (after rehab I assume), but perhaps his brother might convince him to come back
