Here it is...

Line Up Announcement
Friday 20th October 2006

2007 marks the second year of MS Fest. With the first year being such a runaway success and raising much needed funds and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis, we are intent on continuing this year with a MUCH bigger and better event to not only ensure every ticket holder has an amazing experience, but to increase the awareness stakes for MS.

MS Fest 2007 is turning up the heat in a big way and the first announcement brings some of Australia’s biggest acts, so we recommend getting in nice and early to ensure your place in the Sun come next March!

It’s finally time and we are so proud to announce the first installment of acts for MS Fest 07 and oh what a way to start!

Silverchair
This will be Silverchair’s first Tasmanian performance in over 7 years!

The Newcastle trio has sold over six million albums worldwide and they have enjoyed more top 40 singles over the last decade than any other Australian rock band.

Their most recent release – 2002’s “Diorama” – was their fastest selling CD in this country and won them 5 ARIA Awards. The band was unable to tour extensively on that album due to the ill-health of singer Daniel Johns. However, Daniel is now fully recovered and recent mainland performances have attracted amazing reviews.

With the new Silverchair album set for release early next year you can expect to hear a lot more from the legendary trio between now and MS Fest 07.

Silverchair sets the bar even higher this year as MS Fest establishes itself as one of the must do events in the Tasmanian Summer Calender .

Spiderbait
In a matter of two years, Spiderbait went from cult status on an independent level to scoring Top 10 albums on the mainstream Australian charts. Alongside Silverchair and Powderfinger, Spiderbait captured a vast new youth market that identified with the band's low-fi but uniquely hard-edged style.

And lets not forget their platinum smash hit single “Black Betty”

Spiderbait have come together for this one off performance at MS Fest07, and I’m sure Tassie will be as glad as we are to have them.

Get ready Tassie the Bait are back!

Butterfingers
There is just no stopping these musical misfits from Brisbane. After their sellout shows across the state earlier this year on “The Deeper you dig” Tour and previous Smash hit singles “Fig Jam” and “Get up out of the dirt” Butterfingers are sure to be a crowd favourite

Butterfingers are one of the must see Australian Hip Hop Bands and are an exciting and welcome edition to MS Fest 07.

KarnivoolThe Release of Karnivool’s Full Length Album “Themata” marks one of the most anticipated releases for an independent band. Capturing both melodic Beauty and Mind Bending rock, Western Australia’s Karnivool have a reputation for absolute killer live shows

Karnivool’s single “Shutterspeed” debut at #1 on JJJ net 50 and held its position for seven weeks.

Western Australia’s biggest buzz band are set to conquer MS Fest 07.

Trial Kennedy
Believe it or not there are still bands out there trying to create something new, Trial Kennedy are one of these bands.

With unforgettable and unique trademark vocals, addictive melodies, hook laden guitar riffs and a bottom heavy rhythm section, Trial Kennedy are unafraid to discard convention.

Ministry of Sound Arena
Kid Kenobi & MC Shureshock
Kid Kenobi’s contributions to the Australian dance scene can be matched by few of his peers. A quick look at his rap sheet shows he was voted Number 1 DJ in the Technics inthemix Top 50 three years in a row.

Most people don’t achieve so much in a lifetime, but for Kid Kenobi this is still the beginning.

Ajax
Ajax The baron of kampbootytek, the prince of disconouveaux and the Tsar of all things glampopfuzzbop, in who’s domain pop eat’s itself but has dessert as well

Now Australia’s #1 DJ Ajax returns for his second MS Fest and is guaranteed to raise the lid off the Ministry Arena.

Goodwill“Not only one of Sydney’s finest DJ’s but one of Australia’s. Old School experience, but with new school musical flavours, Goodwill is a DJ worth checking!” John Course

“Goodwill makes music that the world wants to sing to.” Poxymusic

Well what more could we say?

Yeah i might be going. One of my good friends is a Silverchair freak (haha, sorry about the pun! :p) so I'm about to msg her now and tell her to have March 11th free!

I've already seen Butterfingers, Trial Kennedy and Spiderbait, but would see them again. The 'Chair will be awesome to watch, same with Karnivool.

Sounds good! :D

Pretty good lineup. It sounds awesome. I wont be able to go, though. Hell, just getting the Phillip island for Pyramid Rock proved to be a task and a half. I look forward to hearing everyones tales from it.

Just got back from this at about 8 tonight. I had a great time! The only sucky thing was that I forgot to take my sunnies with me.
My friend and I went up a day early so that we didn't have to leave Hobart at an insane hour of the morning to get there by 11am for the start.

Silverchair kicked every other bands arse - big time! Daniel Johns has such an amazing vocal range, which is evident when he belts out a song like Freak. wow.

Another good band was the first act - Cruel Like That. I think they're a local Launceston band..they're not from Hobart, I know that! Anyway, they were only young, but man were they good. Great guitar playing and singing from the lead dude and pretty good drumming too.

Spiderbait and Trial Kennedy were both a let down. I've seen both of them play much, much better. Butterfingers rocked, although they had a few technical problems during their set. Karnivool, Mammal and The Beautiful Girls were all good too. Bobby Flynn was ok. Didn't know any of his stuff though.

Pete Murray sucked.

Silverchair
I couldn't get any decent photos with Chris in them. He was always in the dark. Paul Mac got more attention than Chris did, which sucked.
