Hey everyone, I've just bought myself a 4 string bass and I'm wondering if there are any tips which would help me advance. I've been playing guitar for about a year so im assuming the freting hand works similar, but I'm more concerned about my strumming hand.

I know a few things such as resting my thumb on the pickup and the E string when needed, and a general idea of how to use my fingers to pick. If anyone has any tips or videos which will be usefull it would be greatly appreciated.

And and videos of how to slap bass would be awsome?

Thanks

i've taught myself how to play the bass and i learnt by googling bass tabs to songs i can hear the bass to and learning them and playing along to the song. you can usually find some decent tabs even if they're not 100% correct.
