Im really really really really excited.

My band is planning our recording. Haha still deciding if it will be an EP or album. Im guessing EP cos of costs.

Anyway we've had ALOT of great stuff happen. Don Bartly (ex studios 301, now works for his own company with that guy from savage garden). Don, who is one of australias leading mastering engineers (he's done a fair bit of mastering for TLE, plus come on... he mastered sgt. peppers) is really loving the music from my band and is gonna set us up really cheap with one of the best studios in the country. Don is then gonna master it for us with all his vintage gear. Same stuff used for 70's rock band back in the day.

Not only that........... Harry Vanda (yes harry vanda, the easybeats and yes producer of many ACDC albums!!!!!!!) will be doing for us what he did for ACDC. He's coming on board with the Loves to produce our stuff, offer his ideas ect. Just like Nick in that bonus state of emergency DVD. This dude did ACDC, The Angels!! Basically all our favourate bands.

I've got a ton of gear arsenal really to record. Alot is mine and alot if borrowed.

When I go in the studio i'll be taking

Guitars : *my main guitar (my custom gretsch white falcon)
* 1960's Gretsch Duo Jet
* 1957 (original) Gibson Les Paul
and maybe my old * 1969 Gibson SG that I sold to a mate of mine

Amps: (woahhhh im excited)
* 1967 Marshall Super Lead (plexi) original 100 watter
* Marshall Major (200!!!watter). 1969 original - these are possibly as rare as marshalls get. This one had to get imported over from south africa, was borrowed by ian moss (and yes he payed for the rent too) and back me to in time for the studio!)
* Marshall JTM-45 reissue (from 1989)
* Marshall JMP Master Volume 100/50 watter 1976 original.

Bloody hell....... I just wanna go do this damn thing!!!

Thats Great! Nice work Fritz!

Daniel Jones is the guy from Savage Garden. I think he bought Studio 301's old mastering rooms on Castlereagh Street, since 301's mastering is joining the rest of 301's facilities in Alexandria. I don't spose that is where you are recording? It would be kind of weird recording on the 7th floor of an inner city office building... Very cool spot for a studio.

hehe.

Yeah at the moment i have no idea where we'd be recording. don is having a think about where we should do it. he really wants whats best for us so he's not all 'yeah just come do it at my place!!'. which is really cool cos its obvious he really cares. very hard to find someone in the industry that does..

You guys won the world battle yeah?

Fritz
12-04-2006, 11:46 PM
thanks.

none of that is actually me playing. hence the really bad rhythm playing...

I got recruited cos they heard I was a pretty mean malcolm young.

All those recordings were just a strat through a peavey classic 30.

The live recording has me in it but i hate it cos it sounds like total poo and we were going ape shit during it therefore the playing is sloppy as. I dont know why they put that up there..

Nah we lost by a point. Pretty hard to accept when the judging was out of 900 points.

Even worse when the judges had to get escorted out of the hotel because tons of people (who we didnt know, ppl who were just in at the hotel at the time) were threatning the judges for making a huge mistake.

Even worse when 7 of the 9 judges ring you up the next week and each say 'yeah dont tell anyone but yeah I guess we made the wrong decision, sorry'.

Even worse when one of the judges sends in a review to the drum media and tears us to shreds quoting 'the loves using bus loads of people to win the gig over for themselfs'. Awesome.... This industry is in such a great state when you get abused for bringing lots of people to a gig that has a $14 cover charge.
We litterally hired a $800 coach and filled it full of people and got accused for it in the review.

The 2nd judge who stood by the decision works for inpress in melb put a huge colour article about it in last weeks addition. Rang up our singer, not only woke him up, but asked him 'yeah is it true theres been heaps of controversy over the decision you guys didnt win' and greg goes 'yeah i guess' then andrew the publisher goes 'thanks, bye'. Then this dip shit prints out these quotes in the next weeks inpress. 'Greg from loves says 'yeah the wrong decision was deffinatly made, we should of won.' I'll be paying mr. andrew a nice personal visit when im down in melbourne next

But hey, not like i care or anything :p

Far out. That's pretty harsh what happened to you guys. At least the controversy has gotten your name out there more with all the articles and reviews. I guess that's the only good thing about it but stil, getting second is fatastic and you should congradulate yourselves on that.

i've also been putting in more guitar practise, i'm playing again in emu plains on saturday, and i've got 15mins to show off :p

also, you can get the loves brand g-strings too

mick, kelly has been wearing the g-string she got at bondi, she wanted greg to "sign it" too :confused: :eek:

i saw one of the band guys and asked if mick was around, and then introduced myself, thus starting the me following the band around and pissing my friends off by bugging them to come along all time :) good fun
