you mean like "What the F*&K! How can someone play guitar for four and a half minutes and not play any good music?" ;)
I thought that was kind of dull and boring, but perhaps that is just me... at least when people like Steve Vai do it, its done in such a way that almost convinces you that he is a robot. :D Most of the stuff that he is doing is more or less a take on the technique used to play a chapman stick. The Chapman stick is a 10 string instrument that you finger tap with both hands to form the bassline and melody

A genuine question,
Do you think perhaps that part of the criteria for being a good guitarist or a good musician could be making enjoyable and entertaining music?

He's good, but to me it felt like he was playing the same thing over and over but with the guitar on someones head etc. I personally prefer melody over speed.

Definately! I mean playing fancy stuff is great and all but I think musicians also need to know when to just play something simple and enjoyable

Pretty good but not my favourite type of guitar playing.
Although, when he played it on the guys head it was pretty cool!
Funilly enough, playing the guitar on someones head like that is quite easy, and probably made his job easier.
It was a fun rock out. If this was between songs at a show, I wouldn't mind it. If he is passing it off as a song, its terrible. Just circus tricks really on a guitar.
Oh, and RE: the Jack Johnson comment. I'm no fan, but I'd rather see someone just "sit there" and play their music, especially in that style, as opposed to running around and jumping up and down.

i know what you mean but he could be a bit more active. like what chris is like and scotty and andy. they all get into it. but i know that he might of been into it i just couldnt tell lol
He shouldn't act like TLE at all.
TLE are a completly different style to Jack Johnson. Jack Johnson is laid back, so he plays laid back. Just because someone just sits and plays, doesn't mean they arent getting into it. Watch their body language, their facial expression, their feet stomping the ground. Don't judge a band on their live performance on whether they move around or not.

I found that incredibly boring, wankery is only good for so much...
