Shameless Jarry promotion. I think everyone should come along to one, two or all of these shows. If not for Bodyjar, then at least for old skool punkers Nursery Crimes. If not for them, then come along for me coz I'm fantastic :)

Well what's a summer without a few Bodyjar shows?? It's almost like not getting a nice cold beer when you're watching the cricket. Especially when they are back from a whirl wind tour of Japan with new tricks and Saki!! They are joined by their great mates and legends of Melbourne punk Nursery Crimes!! This show promises to be all that you need to get through a hot summer and with The Gingers opening up the night be sure to get down to The Evelyn early on the 19th of January to avoid disappointment as this one will be a sell out. The Jar will then head to the Torquay Hotel on Australia Day eve(25th-Jan) to rock the beach with The Nation Blue, Before catching up again with their mates Nursery Crimes again for a final summer show at the Westernport Hotel in San Remo, before getting set to release a long awaited live Album. Don't miss out!

I'll probably go to the Evelyn gig. Although January 19th is the king of gig clashes.

God damnit, why won't they come to Adelaide?

Kimjar
01-04-2007, 10:16 PM
Because Adelaide smells :) Hehehe. Maybe later this year after they release the live album.

Wow Damo, how long have you been poking around these parts for? Haven't seen you here before!

*edit* actually, I probably have and just not really realised coz I'm an idiot.

I regret not seeing them on the proper album tour. I only went to the Lights Out one and figured they'd be back soon anyway.

I'd say that they will be doing a short tour when the live album is released later this year. Otherwise, they're always doing random gigs here and there.

You know Kim, after all my complaining that i can't see them live, now that I'm moving to Sydney, I guess I will.
But, it will be just my luck that they'll decide to do a tour to Cairns :p

Haha yeah probably! I'd piss myself laughing if that happened. Though at least Dave would be happy.

I'd almost consider flying home just to see it :p and that way Dave and I can go to the gig together - we always said if they came here, we'd have to haha!!

I met him once but not really. I walked past him at a shopping centre and he was with his daughter (also Caitlin) and I'm like, "hmm ... that looks like Dave" and kept walking. Later that night, we talked on MSN and I'm like, hey were you at Central today? He was like, do you have PENGUIN on your senior jersey? Apparently we'd both guessed but were too scared to ask haha!!

In case anyone is heading to Cobram this Saturday, Bodyjar will be headlining the Peaches and Cream festival with 28 Days, Killing Heidi and the Gingers. Worth making the hike I reckon.

I'll be there Friday night. About bloody time too. Finally, I'll get to see them.

What's the chances of them playing Glossy Books?

Kimjar
01-18-2007, 04:53 PM
I'd say about 75%. It's usually thrown in there. Just yell it out!

Jawn
01-18-2007, 05:03 PM
Will they play "Not the same"?

The Dying Start
01-18-2007, 05:37 PM
No. They will only play Hilary Duff songs, and Glossy Books if Cam yells it out and flashes his boobs.

No. They will only play Hilary Duff songs, and Glossy Books if Cam yells it out and flashes his boobs.I was planning on flashing my boobs anyway :) I have to show off my lovely big-arse bandages covering my stitches. Get those cameras ready!

EDIT: Bodyjar was fucking awesome! I think because I'd never seen them before and was really looking forward to it, it made it even better. Hearing all the popular songs and the songs sounding just as perfect live (well the first half of set at least) was excellent. I can't wait to see them again. They didn't play Glossy Books, but I didn't flash my boobs either, and there's always next time.

You'll enjoy it :)

Kev - See you in Traralgon. Be prepared for a hell of a lot of Moe love happening that night.

I'll be going to the Vic shows and possibly the Wollongong and Gaelic Club shows, provided I get time off work.

just out of interest how do you go about getting reviewer/photo passes for shows?

You have to be in the correct business to obtain these sorts of passes.

Basically, if your a freelance journalist, most publicity companies will tell you to get nicked.

And it helps if you write a letter that has your companies letterhead on there and you are friendly and don't demand stuff.

So don't go asking for review passes etc, if you work for a shoe store etc.

damo0945
02-06-2007, 07:07 PM
so a photo pass for a studio art class might be asking a bit much then?

Kev
02-06-2007, 08:07 PM
Probably. Not really sure
