He thanked me for digging on his songs, and said he hadn't really heard that before, but basically laughed at the idea of taking a lead vocal, and that he just wasn't cut out for it.

There are only a few moments, on studio recordings anyway, where you can clearly hear his voice (singing, not the "6 Scott Owens Chanting" effect they love) up front, but its definitely an interesting counterpoint to Chris'. The immediate examples I think of are "Stay Away From Me" (although what he sings in that section is frustratingly LEFT OUT OF THE LYRICS so I always wonder what he's saying) and the outro of "In The End".

Well, obviously Chris would get the preference, I mean, he's only been the lead singer for oh...15 years or so? :p I just think it would be cool to hear Scott take lead on a tune or two just to switch it up and do something different. Or even if the used the method from "In The End" a little more, where they had Scott's vocals up front trading off with Chris'. In the studio, they almost always just overdub the one singer's voice. I'd be surprised if it actually happened though, so I'll just have to enjoy his sweet backups...

I was not aware of the alternate last verse in "Second Solution", but after I just read it above I went to find a live clip of it...and, even though it's a small change to the song overall, it's fuckin' awesome! Good to see them doing more of that crazy live breakdowns/switching up rhythms/"Keith Moon" type of shit that they used to do with Trav alot...Andy has REALLY come into his own. Especially for a song that's been played at every show since its debut (almost always in the same slot as the final song no less) a small change goes a long way.

I feel like I should be leaving a long, detailed, droolingly enthusiastic comment about this, but at this moment all I can say is...holy shit!!!

I really wish I still had some downloading/burning sense, because I remember when I got the BDO 03 set I burned it all onto a video cd and now I have it can just pop it into a DVD player and watch it on the big screen/speakers like a regular DVD any ol' time. It's how I got my ignorant yank friends who were totally unaware of TLE into them...it'd be great to be able to do that with some of this old schoooool goodness.

And yes, total ditto on the increased tightness of modern days versus the passion and unbridled energy of the old TLE...I kinda liked when Chris scratched and screamed all the time!

Some day some Roll On-era sets are gonna surface and then I can truly implode with joy.

As far as I know, every track off Hellbound has been documented to have been played live (at least in part) except for Trace Of Doubt (fuck that would be amazing), Tabletop Show, and Headlines...although I'm sure they all must have been played at the "Hellbound EP Launch" shown for a second at the beginning of the FHOI dvd...

WOW! Mine is waaaaayyyyyyy more expensive! I think we pay $80 a month and I don't think it is as fast and we only have 25 gig like JG (but we're constantly watching vids and haven't come close to maxing out yet). I like the reliability of Bigpond but that is about it! After exams we're going net shopping, see if we can find something cheaper so we don't have to live on 2 min noodles next semester :laugh:

it was essentailly the same, except for the part before the solo.
it used to go octave riff > solo, where on the recording it goes octave riff > verse riff > solo.
