Pink Floyd actually recorded something and put it backwards in one of their songs.. it says something like

"Well done, you found the secret message, please send your answer to.."

when you play it backwards :)

I think English is such a unique language where we have an alphabet. And from that alphabet derives thousands of words in all sorts of combinations. So if a song is played backwards and sounds like something else it's probably due more to the fact that a lot of words are interchangable and can sound like something else backwards...
