Video Ideas

but i think it would be interesting seeing what ideas people have for music videos to tle songs that werent singles



example: i see rising up from the ashes's video set at a sunny beach and just a video of people having fun as a group.




what are your ideas??

I had planned out a whole TLE B-side musical autobiography this past year. Kinda a musical and artistic expression (film, graphics, animation, effects, key lyrics) of my feelings as well as a perspective view/summary for the four other people who would have been able to watch it. Basically it was the only way I managed to keep sane last year. It's all stuck in my head though. I was going to film it all this summer, but, then I remember how crap I am at that sort of stuff so didn't bother. Plus, I didn't know what the ending was/how to end it/its an on going saga, so I wouldn't have been able to complete it anyway.

Tracklisting
She's Calling Out (probably either opening or closing) - I've always felt represented by this song.

Listen Up Suzy (and possibly NLF as I've always though those two should go together) - A love story that just needs to end.

New Frontier - A song of hope in this story, probably in the middle somewhere or towards the end.

Hopeless - Pretty much sums up all the emotions/feelings/thoughts

There is No Radio - hehe, just love the noises in this one

The Room (not a B-side, but very fitting to the story line)

Fond Farewell - self explanitory

Blinded - as above

No Reaction - 'I might as well be talking to a brick wall'

Just Too Bad - 'What if I don't see you again'

The Avenue - 'You can't read the signs in front of you'.

Maybe, I'm kinda over it now though. And I think it would just go over the heads of the intended viewers (that, or it'd just fire them up some more).

Since i heard the song 'hellbound' i've always wanted to do a video for it. preferably animation. I pictured someone speeding through hell like it was an underground mine, dodging things, etc.

but, since i'm crap in the area of animation, and have little or no patience for these things, it has just remained something i imagine.

waiting for the silence sounds like something that builds up to the end. Starting in a basement, and ending in a packed show.

Hahaha yeah thats what i was thinking. rising up from the ashes wouldnt be at a beach.

i always thought hellbound had a coutry and western feel to it. would be sweet to see the boys dressed up in country and western gear. ha

for loaded gun i think it should be like the story playing out with cuts of the band playing in the station / train with people walking all around them

I know rising up from the ashes has a complete different meaning behind it, but the music itself, not the lyrics makes me think of a beach :P

That fits perfectly.. cheesy country and western shootout! film it at Sovereign Hill and when the gun go's off it's just one of those flags that says bang.. and scotty stairs at it blankley.. as if to say.. "oh shit..".

Ok.. sorry, i'm thinking this out way too much! work is dull thou.. so please humour me!

New Frontier - The boys getting strapped into the chair, spaceship taking off. Scenes from Star Wars/Star Trek type of shows. The ban floating in space playing the song. Lasers, bright lights, UFO's etc.

Read About It - Turning the pages of a newspaper/magazine with the articles the lyrics and the photgraphs move (like in Harry Potter) an te boys are some of the pictures and they're playing the song in the photo.

Witch Doctor - Man goes to the jungles to find a witch doctor. Witch doctor looks into the mans eyes or the mans palms then the camera zooms into the mans eyes and shows what the witch doctor saw. The boys are playing amongst the trees in the jungle and in his visions.

Carry Me Home - Them playing in a pub. Black and white or sepia colours.

Riot On Broadway - The band playing on a broadway stage and the audiance start a riot and run a-muck. Audiance provide backing vocals e.g. when the song goes "RIOT!!! on broadway"

Hold Up - Has the band robbing a bank or shop with Chris saying the lyrics but not like he is singing then and goes the the events in the song. Finishes with either them making it across the boarder, dancing a little as they cross it, and running into the horizon and the police standing under the sign turning from looking at them running away then looking at their feet, one throws his has on the ground then walks towards then past the camera
Alteratively:
Shows them being locked in a cell and the police officer walks towards the camera looking smug swing the keys on his finger.
