I daresay the answer to most will be listening to Triple J's Hottest 100 - but what about the rest of you?
Me, I'm working then we're having a BBQ with our neighbours ...

Yeah, Hottest 100. And babysitting while everyone goes to a wedding.
Listening to the first half of the Hottest 100, then it's off to work for me.

I'm going to see Mr Coffee and a few other bands at The Arthouse tonight. During the day I'm working from home :(
I got told by a guy (who was the heckler from the Bodyjar gig last week, for those of you playing at home) that I was "UnAustralian" at a gig last night :p
I'm going to a pool party in Alstonville, which is the most boring place you could ever go to.
But the house is huge, the people there will be nice, and ive got a whole bottle of scotch to distract me from the lame music.

I was invited to a friends party...but seeing that I live on the other side of the world, I can't make it. :p

I've just done 2 hours of working from home / chatting on MSN. That's enough money for another 2 - 4 local gigs. :)

Poor form, Damo :p
I went to a friend's Hottest 100 party and spent all day there.
More happened. Don't want to go into that much detail.
The end.

Went to a friends to listen to the Hottest 100
Well I didnt listen to the Hottest 100. Though I did keep up to date via a friend who was listening to it.
I did some radio work this arvo after a sleep in.
And now getting ready to go to work.

I worked and my boss threw me a 'lunch' for going away then I came home and our neighbours came over for a BBQ and I had a bit to drink and now I'm a bit tipsy but not really. I can still talk and stuff.
I got sunburnt while filming lawn bowls. And ate some really gross sausages off the barbie. I did win a meat tray though.

01-27-2007, 11:17 AM
Winning meat trays is awesome! :D Especially because of the price of some meats! (There's the mother in me coming out :p)

I sat on a second story appartment balcony overlooking the beach with 60 of my closest mates and lots of alcohol and sausages. Pretty stock standard really...
got extremely drunk while listening to the hottest 100 in someones backyard
i listened to the hottest 100, ate a BBQ lunch on the nature strip opposite one of the mt martha beaches 'cause we couldn't find anywhere else to sit, and i got sunburnt like a bitch.

I stayed at home listening to the Hottest 100, talking to my brother a bit because he's moving to Melbourne soon. Then went to see The Nervous Wreckers in Springwood with some friends.

Good stuff! I love that band :)
Aaron
01-27-2007, 12:09 PM
Yeah, they were good fun - and certainly got everyone dancing! (Not that it takes much to get drunk people dancing, but y'know.) It was good to see a whole set (two, in fact) since I arrived late when they were supporting Mick's band (The Loves) last year.

.....kidnap him.
Well, my night was fucking AWESOME.
I had the best night i've had in a long, long time. All year. Last 6 months. whatever. it was just so good.
But you know the really drunk girl who goes "OH WOW, EVERYONE SHUT UP, THIS SONG IS ABOUT *ME*!!", well she was there, and she's since been nicknamed Jabba the Slut. A few of us were skinny dipping and she kept trying to rub up against me (recall a mental image of being sucked into the belly of a whale), and my friend, who is like family really, and all over every guy there. The problem there was that every guy there was gay exccept her brother. And she kept just.. pouncing at crotches, until one of the boys actually had to tell her to stay away from his boyfriend.
She drank a whole bottle of vodka, a quarter bottle of tequila and a quarter bottle of rum, then claimed she wasnt drunk, hadnt had any vodka, and that really, her vodka was still in the cupboard. She then grabbed someone elses vodka and tried to drink it.
She makes me so mad. All she does is eat, eat, eat, pounce, eat eat, get off her face, deny it, eat, eat, eat, eat.. we've told her to cut it out, but i'm the only one there who actually sticks to what i say. Everyone else says 'jabba, quit it, or i quit you, bitch', but then they act like nothing happened. Bah
But anyway.
it was the first party we'd all been to out here, and aside from this girls antics (which have become the standard anyway), it was the best night of all time.
..the pool had blue dye in it though for some reason, so we all came out looking like smurfs. My white swimmers are an awesome blue now.
oh! and there was the best potato bake there ever. and cosmos and tequila sunrises everywhere you looked. in drink bottles so you could take them in the pool. sooo good.
"Here he comes, vanity smurf!"

My day was pretty awesome. Went to the beach in the morning with Kimmoi, went over to Nathans in the afternoon. Then we went from his house to the city and caught up with a few people, went to a hotel and drank alcohol until it cooled down outside. Went and watched the fireworks then me and Nath managed to score a lift home and ended up watching Anchorman on DVD with Pam & Sue.
Jabba the Slut, ha.

Yesterday I went on Puffing Billy with my dad, his girlfriend and her kids.
It was pretty fun and did get really funny, thanks to my great ideas we did pedal boat racing haha it was so funny. Those boats are really tiring.
The only bad thing is that I got a really sun burnt nose. :(

Are the pedal boats near Lysterfield? I think I went there once.

I'm not sure exactly where they were, I wasn't paying much attention to where we were... But the place we were at had 'lake' in the name, if that helps.

Well Stephen & Kate (old skool TLE boardies from the cool board era..) were up staying with me for BDO in Sydney, so on Australia Day we went to a BBQ at my friends house, then we saw Dreamgirls (dont bother..) and then I got a call offering me a Killers ticket at last minute so I snapped that up, so the three of us headed to fox studios and had dinner then I went and saw the Killers and they went to a movie....then we drove home. 2 Big Days Out in a row.

I havent been on puffing billy since I was like 5. My mother tried to make me go on it again when I was down there last year, but i decided i'd rather do nothing.
the puffing billy bridge thingie goes past my aunt and uncle's house, and my aunt weeds the forest there all the time. they're pretty cool.

I went on the Puffing Billy when I was about that age, too. We went to a gift shop afterwards and I bought a candle that I thought looked pretty cool. On the drive back up to Sydney I looked at the sticker on the bottom of the candle and it said it was made in Glenbrook, about 2km from my house http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/azfish/dry.gif.

My Australia Day was pretty plain. Just me and 7 other kids in an apartment getting wasted. Nearly everyone there ended up having an emo. It made for good entertainment for a while, but was quite old by the end of the night.
It's the first time i've even bothered to do anything for Australia Day as i'm pretty patriotic.

Wow, I totally forgot the Hottest 100 was one. Whoopsies?
I went round to a mate's place for a BBQ. Didn't end up leaving till about 11pm though. Haha, some of us went into the guy's room and watched porn on his computer for about an hour. Including bits of the "Da Vinci Load". In the room was myself (a female...) and about 8 guys. It was amusing to say the least. I then spent hours in the spa getting wrinkley.
It was a good day. Hells yeah.

I sat at home thinking, man, what a lame excuse for holiday. Seriously, I'm all for celebrating freedom and whatnot, but did they have to pick the day when the British people invaded Australia? A little distasteful in this reporter's opinion.

Tim Freedman's between song banter on the Rocks in Sydney included this remark:
"You know, it's probably appropriate that we're playing here tonight.. cos about 200 years ago, there were probably some black guys over here saying What the fuck are those whiteys doing over there?"
And then he said something about there also being a heap of convicted felons locked up in the bottom of ships wondering if they were in heaven or hell. And they were probably in hell.

i worked 7- 330 then listened to the end of the hottest 100 then went to bed twas fun
I had a crappy day at school, then went to the docs, then a local band night to take photos for some friends' band. Then I was meant to be going to the pub but everyone bailed on me so I came home.
Me and my dad were going to take a day off for 'religious holiday' reasons, but thought it would have been inappropriate and abuse of my dad's new British citizenship (he had to sit that stupid test they created).
