Amsterdam/Cologne gig photos.

So, there were these best nights in my life lately, so this experience definitely deserves a new thread!
I've met guys 3 times and couldn't believe my eyes when I had seen Chris coming out of the bus for the first time.
I enjoyed both shows in Amsterdam and Cologne, though concert itself was a bit better in Melkweg (AMS) because some kind of relaxed atmosphere and smell of weed on the streets :D (actually, I liked stage lights there more, so that's the real answer).
I'm going to post some photos which I love the most. It takes time to edit raw so please come back later to see others.

I'd love to photograph TLE but most bands/management want you to have the backing of media behind you (website, mags, street press etc), and I don't have that (stupid hobart) so there goes my chance of photographing them any time soon.

I am just working the first time with photoshop and don't know if I'm doing the wright thing. But just trying out what looks good and I think that's the best way to get out a result anyway.

no because there was no photo pit in amsterdam, and I decided to stay in crowd in cologne to shoot during whole gig, not only 3 first songs. and there was no possibility to stay in front row after shooting from photo pit :wacko:

I was quite surprised by these photos from their last concert - http://www.flickr.com/photos/mystifyme07/sets/72157617887614344/
they're not really interesting/beatiful for Canon 5D Mark II owner!:p Maybe it's just my opinion but I've seen much better sets done with cheapier cameras and by less professional photographers (I mean...this guy has about 17000 concert pics uploaded which means he has huge experience). So that isn't always fair who gets access to photograph particular gig...
I wish to see new tour dates for autumn soon. Nothing excites me more than thoughts about meeting/shooting them again!:devil:

Yeah, a lot of people/media reps focus on the photographers that are already well established and who have huge portfolios. They seem to forget about the rest of us..I mean how are we supposed to build up a portfolio if no one will give us a go!

It sucks trying to do it in Hobart too, because we have such a small live music scene. There's only so many local bands that I can keep photographing! That's why I get excited when I do get photo passes for the bigger bands that come here.

I have one for tomorrow night and one for next sat, which will be for the fasterlouder website! Yay! :)

and, living in Russia I'm not able to build live photography portfolio because I'm sick of our music scene, and I will better stay at home without photos than go and listen/shoot crappy bands that our clubs have to offer. Looking forward to see Creepshow this august, though!

Same here! I either don't go to a gig at all (cos i've seen most of our local bands a billion times anyway) or i go to the gig without my camera and just enjoy it.

That's one of the reasons why i love melbourne so much. I have a much better chance to combine music and photography together! :)
