View Full Version : Glenn Moved To Whyalla!
The Dying Start

Glenn moved to Whyalla, and now he talks about himself in the third person! Isn't that exciting?
He has lots of photos from his adventures. He has been in Whyalla for nearly 2 weeks. He lives in a 2 bedroom unit with his "life partner" Carla. They are very happy. Let's begin our pictorial jaunt through the lives of these two young rapscallions.
http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/~carla_glenn/Whyalla/First_Week_01.jpg
Carla and Glenn were meant to move on the 20th of January. Unseasonal rains pretty much flooded half of South Australia and the roads were closed for 2 days. They left on the 22nd, and this is Carla being a happy driver.
http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/~carla_glenn/Whyalla/First_Week_02.jpg
Carla said "we will have plenty of room in th car, don't worry about packing any electronics in the truck!". Glenn didn't believe Carla and packed electronics in the truck anyway. Carla's stuff took up all of the car and Glenn had nowhere to put his feet. 4 hours of bumps with his legs around his ears made Glenn feel like a prostitute. Except he didn't get paid that well.

I had great fun with the DIY furniture. I lost all feeling in my fingers due to the excrutiatingly small allen keys.
It's a very chill place to live. Sweet spot indeed, except it gets hot. And even when it's not hot, the sun has more bite to it than you'd expect and you get roasted before you realise.
And I'm not adult-y at all yet. Just ask Carla!

The Chrissie Tree belongs to Carla.
Thanks Alina...it all didn't go totally to plan..the move delayed beause of flodding and then the day we actually left I got crook with food poisoning and spewed before we left, felt shite pretty much all day, even though I had to carta few tonnes of junk up 27 steps to the third floor...and then because of all the sickness and working and straining muscles my body didn't recover til Monday just gone so i was up and down and not very happy for the entire first week. I'm fucking rolling now though..."yee haw", as us country folk would say in a stereotypical film.

Just to clarify....i put the majority of the bed together...i only stopped to take a photo!
And to further clarify, Carla's been working all week. She cooked a couple of meals last week, but i've cooked all the rest....Carla hasn't done a load of washing yet, i have twice. I've made the bed coz i'm last out of it.... I'm not going near the dunny though...!

Actually no. After a year of living in our little rented flat with seaside views, we went and BOUGHT a house. Well, half of one at least. Since that time we have offloaded alot of our hard-earned in the hope of making our little slice of rural suburbia a better place to live. We completely re-did the backyard, put in some new windows, painted a couple of rooms, carpeted a couple of rooms, got the roof re-done, and we just had our genuine 1975 kitchen ripped out and replaced with something nicer.
Most of our trevails can be read about in our newsletters, or perused in photographic form, on this little piece of crap webspace: http://www.23rdprecinct.net/whyalla/
