I'm fairly surprised, i thought it would have been somewhere over 50.

34 is pretty fucking awesome.

Well Done!

Who voted for it?
I voted for Prisoner and Jailbreak (ACDC)

It was in my list :) I would have voted for something else by I knew that POS is what most other people would vote for so I went with it.

It's not impossible that SS is somewhere further up there, or one of the other self-titled singles... maybe even Tainted Love. We'll see.

The Living End - Prisoner of Society
http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100_alltime/countdown/img/34_prisonerOfSociety_150.jpg
Authors: Chris Cheney
Released: September 8, 1997 (on Second Solution/Prisoner Of Society EP, later appeared on The Living End LP)
Produced by Lindsay Gravina
Recorded at Birdland Studios, Prahran, Melbourne

“The song that refuses to die,” laughs Chris Cheney. “It’s a weird thing about ‘Prisoner’: it was never meant to be anything other than a B-side. ‘Second Solution’ was basically the lead track. But ‘Prisoner’ immediately started getting all the attention, and getting played by you guys. It’s the song that made the band, I suppose. It kinda gets on my nerves at times, because I never want to be known for one song.

“You know, I went through a period of where I really didn’t want to play that song, but with the success of ‘White Noise’ it’s come full circle,” he admits. “I don’t mind so much now, because we’ve proven that there’s definitely life beyond ‘Prisoner’.”

I voted for it! I guess when voting I went for the song most likely to make it, not my favourite track from the band. Prisoner was realistically their best chance by far and 34 was awesome considering there were only a few other aussie songs above it, 2 being powderfinger... which says to me TLE are still regarded as one of the best aussie bands of all time - not on a biased level but on a general public perception.
