THE LIVING END are no strangers to the annual Splendour in the Grass Festival. They have played the Byron Bay festival a number of times, and the crowds there always seem to be particularly appreciative.

So, when called up to make an attempt at filling the huge shoes of the legendary Janes' Addiction at this years' festival, how could they possibly refuse? The cancellation of the Janes' Addiction tour a mere 24 hours before the band were due to land in the country was due to the drummer Stephen Perkins' elbow infection.

There was a marked anticipation at having such big shoes to fill, however TLE hit the main stage for the headline slot with the same gusto they treat every all out rock show they play. The crowd embraced TLE as fill-in's wholeheartedly. The band even tipped their hat to the absent Janes', playing a cover of Jane Says, complete with Grinspoon's Phil Jamieson on shared vocals. The White Album Concert Series finally kicked into gear on Saturday night in Melbourne. Chris Cheney and his mates Phil Jamieson, Tim Rogers & Josh Pyke will take their orchestral tribute to The Beatles fractured but genius record to the road this week. Check out The Age review from the first show here: http://www.theage.com.au/news/entertainment/music/fab-stab-at-the-beatles-flawed-masterpiece/2009/08/02/1249152505884.html

If you are headed to the shows and are unsure what to expect, you can watch an exclusive video from the final rehearsal right here. It sure got us pretty amped! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdxNgTdYsLM

If you are looking to get you hands on some TLE merch, it seems the time is ripe. The good folks at Fist2Face have been peddling some huge discounts at the Official The Living End Merch Store. Everything from shirts, singles, albums and trinket items have been given the discounting treatment. Check it all out at: www.fist2face.com.au/?thelivingend.

After the White Album Tour wraps up there is barely one moment for breath before TLE pack up to head back to Europe for their third expedition this year. This trip takes in the main stage at the Leeds & Reading festivals along with some other shows in Belgium, Wales & Scotland. If your city is missing out this time, fear not! The club tour in November & December will likely bring TLE to a venue near you. Check out all dates below.

Take care!

Can't believe I didn't hear about the Perth White Album date earlier. But I still can't go regardless.

This tuesday I'll be stuck in Darwin :|

I thought the Finland show was going to be on November 9th? I remember reading in the Europe dates thread that the date was posted on the setlist.

Thought I had read it somewhere.

The show yesterday was damn great! They played for an hour, about 14 songs. Chris said that they are back in Finland in November! And it also says "return November 9th - Helsinki" in the piece of setlist I got.

They better settle it 'til september 21st when we're going to apply for visa! It will be such a pity to miss show just because of late announce.
