So that dust storm came through again and TLE were forced to finish early (only played about 7 songs).

Was it because of the dust storm or something else???

I didn't think it was that bad to make the band finish early. Instruments and everthing still sounded good, just seemed odd.

Very disappointing.... The guy got up and said there's a huge storm heading our way we ask everyone to start making their way out... Got home and checked the radar...not a cloud in sight... So he should have said dust storm - which was rubbish cause it had been around for about 3 hours and every other band played in it...and it got no worse after TLE.... end of the story is that the event people stuffed up big time! TLE were just getting going!

yeah it was crap, chris was very apolagetic and saying sorry so yeh it wasn't the bands call at all

It was inconsistant too cause other bands were still playing on other stages. They would have been pretty shitty...missing grand final day to come to bris and play a shortened set...hardly worth it.

That’s no good at all. Sounds like someone made a wrong call if other bands were still playing…

I suppose on the bright side, at least you got to see 8 songs. Could have only been a couple or even none at all if it had been cancelled all together.

yeh fair point...totally the organisers fault really. Got to see 8 awesome songs. Although I'm not sure if loaded gun is really that awesome as a big festival song...it's a great song but it kinda drags on and does lack the second guitar part that the recording has. I still think we want more should have been a single over long live the weekend too...

Hi all,

I'm JUST as annoyed as you all are. I'd been overseas for a while and diverted my flight home via Brisbane to go to the show. There was a representative from 'Occupational Health and Safety" standing side of stage. All festivals have these guys. There was a problem with the roof of the tent. It was coming off on one side and if it DID come off, well... the cover weighs 90 kilos and could have really hurt someone. Additionally there was a big steel rod coming loose up there. THAT is why the show was pulled. The rep was concerned that further winds could see them coming off and potentially hurting someone in the audience quite seriously

Knowing this you can understand why other tents/bands were not affected. The problem we had, was trying to explain this to the band in-between songs which is why Chris didn't really explain it properly to the crowd - they didn't really understand why they were being pulled off either! Afterwards I asked the Health and Safety guy to explain further to the crowd, but by the time they found a working mic most of the crowd had left.

Very disappointing for all including the band.

Good on you for informing us about this Rae, that sucks for the bands and the people that were there but these things happen i suppose.
