Hey guys...
Looking for the best place to get my etag.
I know some places charge you $250 to your credit card straight away and when you use it up they charge another $250 and visa versa. So basically your always in credit. I dont like that idea. I just want an etag that simple charges me each time I use a toll booth. Any suggestion on who I should get my etag from ???
Which state do you need it for? NSW or Victoria?

I did a online survey recently about what people would prefer for payment of etag. So maybe they're thinking of changing things soon.
But can't answer your question sorry. :(

I doubt that there are E-tags that deduct the toll from your bank account each time you go on a motorway. Making so many small transactions would cause more paperwork and bank fees, probably.
If you charge your E-tag account up with credit, that way you only have to make the transaction once every so often. There's an 'auto top-up' option that says when your account gets below, say, $10, it will automatically charge you another top-up amount. Maybe you could set this amount to be $5, or something really low. That way you'd effectively be paying as you use it.

either grab an e-way brochure the next time you use a toll booth, they should be right there next to the money bin, which have an application form inside
or
go to http://www.tollpay.com.au/ and download an application form and mail it in. it costs a $40 deposit only, which you get back if you hand in the etag if you don't want it anymore.
now that i've said all this, i've had the brochure on my desk for about 3 months.. i should really apply for one!
i think you can nominate a balance threshold where it auto tops up your account to a specified amount when it gets too low

yeh
rta all the way
pay 40 or so bucks for it and you get this back should you ever return it
they then take 80 from your account and whenever it goes beow 20 they take another 80, easy as pie.
if you use the m4/m5 alot, which i do for work, they send you out a rebate statement where you claim back $2 of the $2.20 toll, so you only pay 20c for m4/m5

Only on a couple of roads. But some trips can be reeeeaaaal expensive if you want to avoid traffic lights the whole way.
