The Andy part's a little blurrier than the others, but tis a good choice of pic :D

But the first thing I noticed was that Andy looks a little pixelated and fuzzy compared to chris and scott. I know its cos that pic is a lot smaller than the other two, but still, I had to point it out :p

Thanks for the compliments everyone, i wish andy wasn't so 'blurry' looking but oh well. If anyone has a LARGE picture of Andy I may switch them out. Now the fun part...cutting out the stencil:eek: why do the guys have to have such complicated hair????

When I get around to actually spraying this on something andy shouldn't be blurry anymore, I'll post pics if I get it done:D

Yeah when you make stencils it doesn't mean you need a high quality pic, you can blow it up and use a program like illustrator to draw around it, or just use a texta on a printout and smooth it out there
either way spray painted should look freakin shweet

On a serious note though, as someone who's been heavily into art since I was...I don't know, 6 say, it's my own expert opinion, that there's a great deal of talent going round this place, and I thought people might like to be acknowledged for it. :)

On a side note, considering I'm not so well known round here, I'll give a brief summary on my art background;
basically grew up watching my older sis drawing/painting and wished I could come up with the things she did. So that got me into art. Then I started doing the Corinella page in Saturday's Herald Sun for several years (I'm not gonna hold back on the modesty here, but I did get some of my work published and won a few prizes and whatnot, so yay, lol)
And now I'm hoping to carry on my interests in art into Uni and beyond. :)

Oky, I only started this on...Thursday, and just finished it last night but love the way it's come out.

I trialled a couple of different scanning output types which look a hell of a lot better then the original but yeh, have a look and (constructive!) feedback is always appreciated. :)

Oh, and excuse the watermarks...sorry...just why I had to add those will be made clearer in time...hehe.


1) Original drawing done in grey lead...used a basic 'H' type pencil for the whole image.

2) Trial 1 of a scanning output, simply increasing tonal contrast.

But yeh, the problem with this pic was the mike -it was the last thing I drew but its not exactly relative to the photo I was referring to. So I had to try my best with some slight adjustments.
And I did have some proportion issues around the neck/jaw area...again, relative to the position of the mike, but nevermind. Onto my next work! :D

I first did it when i was 10. I thought all the kits were boring but Paul gave me a computer programme that turns any picture into a pattern, so now i can turn whatever i want into xstitch. I needed a break from the MCS one, cause its all counting and 300 x 200 stitches with 40 colours, once i do the outline of this one i wont need to do anymore counting, just fill in all the colours.

The lights give the bottom of the 'spade' a cool effect though. Makes it look like an ornament or something.

The main basis of the image is there, and that didn't take too long. Now I just have to start working up tonal difference, form, etc, might take up to a couple more weeks if I recommence solid work on it now. Stay tuned! :)

Using water resisting paints and cheap plastic earrings from local shop. Sorry but our photocamera is too waek. We need an Amur help for more sharp zoom shots. In fact we can do such earrings (and not only with TLE logos) for anybody. Here we have white, red, black, green and brown round earrings in shop. But we need to wait a day for paint clearly dry and check if it's not easy to scrutch it out.

Could tell you what's wrong with it and why but am too lazy- downside to this one was using a bad resolution image and only A4 sized paper- made detailed areas harder to get right.
I'll probably come back this again at some later stage...a much later stage when I'm less frustrated by it. :pinch:

Oh, and I'm not just covering my ass when I say the quality looks far worse on the comp screen- image appears far lighter overall, and hence doesn't pick up the lighter tonal areas at all.

lol, no, you're right, I spent most of the time drawing that, recorrecting and adjusting the eyes. Grrr...serious frustration, and yeh they're still not right, lol
Was harder still because they weren't photographed in direct light, and most of the entire eye socket area was near straight black. :S

Yes Glenn! Details means alot! And we always see them. But for sure - only after we saw boys with our own eyes we realized their statures, don't afraid of the word - body shapes :innocent:
